It may well be parts bedding in, I'd give it time maybe?

Re: Luigi II...... by gadge

busy weekend getting luigi ready for the "Monmouth meat". I treated him to a reverse eye leaf spring which will lower the car around 35mm. looks ok but I want more . the trip down to Monmouth went faultlessly despite the appalling weather coming home but it just sat at 60 all the way so I'm well impressed

few odd jobs to do like the remove the side trim plus I want to give it a bloody good tune up and service

Is 60 mph all you can expect out of these as I'm thinking of getting one myself? But like the post earlier I am also eyeing up a Rover 220 GTI being a Rover fan of sorts

No you'll get 80 out of one if it's in full fettle. I've had 70 and I know there's room for more if pushed..... It just takes a while to get there. Patience is deffinatly the word of the day if you drive one of these

A bit like driving a 769cc Panda... -- it's what makes it such fun...!

Your not wrong there homie, the 750 panda is next on my wish list to be fair I think the journey to 60 mph would be a lot better after I've give it a good service as I think it's running a bit rich

70 would do me to get to work and back as long as it's fun. How does it compare to my old Seicento ?

Re: Luigi II...... by gadge

It's a right laff to drive, it's very twitchy but perfectly manageable. If it really windy like the other week then it can blow you about. I had a seicento and the 126 is very unrefined compared to the sei - it's noisy, it hums at 60 and is quite bouncy. The best part of the whole experience are the corners...... It flys around them in the same way a go kart does and with that lil twin cylinder buzzing behind you then you can't help but smile

Re: Luigi II...... by gadge

Well I've only been driving him around for less than a week and already some mindless t**t has bashed luigi in a post office car park! and of course, as seemingly is the way these days the gutless loser didn't even hang around to say sorry

So what's the damage, well it's could've been worse. It was done very slowly and the front indicator seems to have taken the brunt of it cracking the cover and smashing the inner casing so it only holds on one side. There's a slight ripple in the front panel by the indicator and some black bumper scuffs. Mercifully the bumper and headlight, although they were hit, have survived unscathed and I'm pretty confident I can push the ripple out from the inside gently and of course the scuffs should polish out.

So Ricambio have a new lamp at 12 and I'll need some clear screws. I'm lucky it wasn't further along the panel in the centre where the damage could've been 10 times worse.

Re: Luigi II...... by gadge

Well that was the best bit...... There was LOADS of room! That's why I parked there because there's never usually any spaces there. I bet it's because modern cars have so little window space that I guess people just can't see a little car out of them anymore.

If somebody did this to Betty, I'd be turning their dangly bits into earrings....

Glad it wasn't worse; and hope you manage to sort it soon. You must be so peeved....
