It's a modified giardiniera one from a shop in Italy Bruce. Gives it a bit of a bark when you blip the throttle

Re: Luigi II...... by gadge

It's been a while so here's an update. 2018 was a mixed bag in terms of reliability. The first half of the year went fine with many successful appearances but sadly the last half was terrible!. Poor running issues dogged my enjoyment which after a lot of head scratching was down to a dickie carb. A very good second hand one was sourced and my mood was dramatically improved. I fine tuned the engine and it now (at last!!) runs like a dream. One king pin was knackered also which caught me out so I spent some time modifying the front suspension and setting up the camber, tracking and ride height. I fitted new bushes and powder coated the upper arms and of course a new king pin. The handling has been transformed so was obviously in need of doing.

So this year I decided to sort out the tunes. I've fitted another head unit this time a top of the line (in 1995) pioneer unit with CD changer control. I don't have a changer or anywhere to put one so I bought a gizmo that enables me to play music from an iPod using the CD changer socket. I even made a cradle in the ashtray!

I sourced a new (NOS) amp to give the rear speakers a bit more welly and built a new parcel shelf as mine literally decentegrated. So that's another job off the list

I thought I was coming to the end of this project but I got some more plans up my sleeve for this little fella so looking forward to 2019

Re: Luigi II...... by gadge

I discovered that Luigi had a coolant leak from a brittle plastic bleed screw so today’s job was removing the rad fitting a different bleed screw and installing a bigger cooling fan. I also took the opportunity to fit a stiffer engine spring from a 126p/500 and polyurethane bushes.
