Took Luigi down to Festival Italia for the first time and have to say it's an awesome day out . The journey there and back went faultlessly too so was really happy. It's well worth going next year if you can make it. At the end of the show you get to take your car around the famous brands hatch circuit

Re: Luigi II...... by gadge

I took luigi to a local meet this weekend - the annual Red Oktober show at the Coventry transport museum. I missed the chance to go to this very unusual car meet with all the vehicles being built in the Cold War era and particularly conmunist countries such as Poland was during the 80's so luigi just scraped in.

It's show time!! a big thanks to @Palio for letting me show luigi off on the Fiat motor club GB stand again it's great to see it getting so much interest. Hopefully @dombooth will sort his out soon

Sadly on the way home the excitement of the last three days of showing off got to luigi and he broke down on the M6 - diagnosis...... The points wire snapped

It's not been a great year for reliability. Some of it is down to poor quality parts.

This! I must admit me and Beth always look whats broken down on the Motorways and in the past couple of years its been mainly Audi's and Mercs! I dont know if this is down to poor build or if its just that there is a lot of them these days.

Nice pics btw Gadge, the white lighting they've stuck in the NEC really give better pictures than the awful orange glow of yester year!

Re: Luigi II...... by gadge

i suspect its mostly due to the fact alot of big german cars bosh up and down the motorway alot of their lives coupled with poor maintenance.

I mean if you do lots of motorway miles you dont buy a small hatchback generally speaking, hence why you sold the 100hp to me John I mean I would but I am weird, the 100hp is my comfy sensible car lol

You will always have the odd breakdown in cars but most new cars are super reliable if you actually maintain them. But yeah, a high percentage of broken down cars on motorway are expensive german cars for sure.

Oh dear, hope you got everything sorted ok!

The car looked great at the NEC. It got loads of attention, and I suspect more than any of the others! At one stage there was a group of about 8 going nuts about it - looking in it, under it & generally swarming around. I assumed they were Polish, but I identified German being spoken - my German is only good enough to identify it & maybe order beer.....

Anyway, despite the exotic stuff in the corner, the 126 appeared to be the winner!

Thanks for your help at the show. I have put something on Facebook, but I donít think you use that?

Thank you Gavin it seems very popular with the late teens and early twenty-somethings ...... Usually the first question they ask is "can you fit a bike engine in it" but I'm glad it gets some attention. To be honest our whole stand was filled with interesting cars like the multipla and the Lombardi.

I did get home ok in the end but it was a long hour and a bit wait for the AA to turn up and as you know it wasn't warm! it turned out to be just a poxy wire that had come away from a terminal. This would've been a simple enough fix however it was pitch black, freezing cold and I had cars doing 70 plus mph only feet away from me so decided to let the 4th emergency service look at it

These particular nutters were in their 40s Iíd say! It obviously appeals to to a wide range of odd people.....

Very wise. Get out the way in the situation, and let someone else sort it. Apart from anything else Iíd think the 126 is more or less invisible to an artic at night!
