Hey I'm new here, I'm Cory, I've recently bought a Fiat Punto 1.4 Sporting, 54 plate for £200 Its a Cat D but no bother as my dad owns a garage so can be fixed, having a little trouble to decide on what i'm going to do with it, I like the look of some puntos on Banded steelies but I'm not sure my colour punto would suit it, so if you guys could give me some advice would be very grateful Thanks! sorry about the picture quality, my iphones on its last legs...





Punto I seen on ebay which was bagged and on steels,wow!

sportings are mint, ithink youve landed on your feet there getting one as first car,

Had a front end bump so the front bumper isn't reuseable and the driverside wing is abit bumped but can be sorted, so currently looking for a punto breaking on ebay! and yeah i like it mate, been reading though and i read somewhere the 6 gear gearbox is abit fragile, do you know anything about that?

6 speed fragile ..nah. like any other gearbox,change oil at correct time,with correct oil and all shouid be good,

someone on here took a sporting to its limits didnt read anything on gearbox fail,

Ah all good then, Don't want it giving out on me haha, Oh well not 17 till april still got time to sort it all out!

All the gearboxes are a bit fragile -- sometimes. The 6 speed is no more fragile than the 5. Having said that, we know people who've put 150bhp through them, without major problems and others who have exploded the diff coming back from Aldi.

Lucky to have one for the first car it's my 6th! Lovely to drive but you will be putting the foot down if not sure if you've tried a 1L, these are much more fun! What's your insurance like? I imagine quite costly.

Its not too bad as my dad has his own garage so Im on his trade insurance so its only working out as around £800 a year!

trade insurance bans modified cars because they cant be valued,you need to be careful here or your dads trade insurance will be invalid,im surprised he would let you run on banded steels anyway
