Croma 1.8 16V Dynamic

Introduction

Just picked this up at 60k miles. Hopefully it will last me a good few years!

I'm in Dublin.

Very lovely. I still wish I'd found one with the beige interior - it looks twice as nice as the blue/grey colour of mine. Even with the supposedly posh Prestigio fabric, mine reminds me of an 80's Ford.

I just hope your petrol prices are a bit better than ours. I'd guess that at least 9 out of 10 Cromas in the UK are Diesels. Is the petrol engine from a Vectra? If so then there should be loads of cheap parts available - either new or salvaged.

Welcome to our world! I don't think there were many petrols sold, but no EGR, DPF or Swirl valve issues. Most everything else has, or will be covered on this Forum. It's almost like the Samaritans!!

I'm a sucker for cream/beige interiors. TBH it's a major part of why I bought it!

I'm not overly concerned about the petrol costs, as I've had more expensive cars to run in the past, our other car will soon be changed to a cheaper-to-run model so it will balance out, and most of my driving is 50-60mph motorway cruising.

Yes it is the 1.8 unit from GM/Opel and I can confirm it is indeed pretty much a pile of poop. There is no low down power whatsoever! Doesn't bother me much as you don't really need it when cruising.
