Quick update on the Bravo...

Not actually touched it bar driving it daily and giving it a clean every now and then. It's been faultless the last 2 months :slayer:

Quick one off the phone this morning at work ...



Ordered a pair of new door handles last month and had them sat around since. The weather and being mega busy at work through December hasn't really allowed me to get out and replace them. Hopefully get a chance to tackle them tomorrow or within the next few weeks

An unfortunate update to make but I came out of my house yesterday morning to find this...



Pretty sure it wasn't vandalism as theres no other damage to the car and there wasn't any glass on the floor where the car was parked. Think it happened on the drive home from work. There was a chip in the glass anyway so it must have been weak and I do recall hearing what I thought sounded like metal bouncing around the car at a point in the journey. Obviously, it was glass hitting the floor. Maybe a stone or a pothole shattering the headlight? Who knows...

Bodged it up with some selotape which is how it will stay until a replacement arrives sometime this week.



Considered buying a pair of Marea Polys but couldn't really justify the price against the £16.50 I'm paying for the standard replacement including postage :slayer:

Good to see you looking after the old lass chris, have to say i do really miss having it as my daily. Yeah that chip was there when i bought it. I did find a guy on ebay selling marea polys with a hid conversion, for £50 the pair, but sold them before i got the change to message him

someone enlighten me to the difference between these lights and marea polys.... i heard people doing the swap for years but have no idea whats different

The polys look cooler Probs offer better light too. The standard lights aren't that great. I'm looking at upgrading the bulbs to be honest, although it's going to be getting lighter soon anyway, probs not worth it.

New headlight arrived today so going to fit it tonight if it isn't raining.

the only solution with our (crap) headlights is called philips x-treme vision or osram nightbreaker unlimited. you will see an improvement

Before those it is better to run relays from battery for the headlights.
On both mk1 and mk2 the dipped beams run from stalk, mk2 has just one relay helping the situation when hibeams are on.
Higher voltage on bulb -> usually more light.

I've been looking at the night breakers. Just want something a bit brighter. My main beams are superb. The dipped beams are poor. Maybe just old bulbs but I wouldn't mind trying something else.

Fit the new light this morning anyway. Good as new. Love how easy it is on older cars compared to newer ones. 2 bolts and its out. Took me all day to replace the headlamps on my partners old polo 6n2. Bumper off job...

No update as such but gave the bravo a good hoover and clean this afternoon.

Been a great car the last 5 months. Seem to average 30-33mpg commuting in it so not ideal but could be far worse!

Just emphasises how revoltingly ugly and stupid the Alfa Mito is....
