Re: Fiat Bravo HGT 155

just outta interest, do these engines have an egr valve? Often the cause of dirty TB and inlets in general, they were always a stupid invention in my view. I know cento's don't have them and although i have seen them with coked up dirty TBs, mine have always stayed really clean and look brand new basically. My alfa 159 started having running issues at only 60k and that was cause of the egr, a friends car kept having issues that was solved by cleaning the TB but was ultimately getting sirty cause of the egr sticking (did eventually get blanking plate and never had an issue since). They just seem to be something that is always gonna go wrong eventually with very bad results, and even if they don't go wrong eventually the inlet get coked up and needs all cleaning out.

ok rant over, bet it turns out these don't even have them now haha

Re: Fiat Bravo HGT 155

Nope no EGR valve on these

Pre throttle body is airfilter into MAF straight into the throttle body. The only recirculation on the intake is off the crank case (feeds in just before the throttle body) which is open and constant and also a feed off the crank case which feeds in just after the throttle body which has a non return valve that opens and closes based on pressure.

The only dirt on the throttle body was basicaly black hard gunk that had built up around where the butterfly closes, so when it was closing after coming off the throttle, the gunk would have been preventing either enough air getting past the butterfly or disrupting the flow enough to cause upset.

Going by FCCUK, the VIS inlet system is a balance which is easily upset, and considering how little gunk there was in the throttle body, it's easy to see how easily upset it can get

Time could be up for me and the HGT. I'm not so sure though. Possibly asking too much in the current market but to be fair, it's worth every penny if you ask me.

Still, if everyone just thinks i'm taking the piss, I'll gladly keep it. Just fancy something without a roof have done for a few years.

Re: Fiat Bravo HGT 155

What would you get to replace it?? Swap you a little Japanese hatchabck? I reckon they are worth about the same.

Pretty sure you will say no to that but don't ask don't get...

Re: Fiat Bravo HGT 155

You know Chris, I would be interested.

Was looking for some sort of cabriolet. 306, golf etc. Something with 4 seats but tbh I've wanted an ignis sport for a long time. If the right one came up after selling the bravo I would be very tempted.

Re: Fiat Bravo HGT 155

Just to bring this thread to a close, as above, Chris (Blu73) now ownes the Bravo.

I imagine there will be a thread up on the car soon enough so keep an eye out for that. Good to see it going to someone who will look after it and keep it within the community

Enjoy it Chris
