Hi all,
I just bought a new Fiat, I decided to upgrade my 2002 Punto to 2008 Grande Punto.
This is the first time when I have a key fob and the battery died within a week, so I went to Timpsons to change the battery. As soon as this was done it started working again, but now I have an issue that if the key is in the ignition key fob keeps locking and unlocking the door. It happens all the time when I am driving and I am not sure why. There is no information about anything like this in the manual which I have. Due to this being very annoying I decided to use the other key which doesn't have a fob, but I would love to be able to fix the fob.
I tried looking for the information on the forum, but I was not able to find any solution, if anybody could help I would be grateful as I love my new little car and want to be able to fully enjoy it!

My guess is that one or more of the fob switches is making contact all the time. Possibly damaged during battery change, or just coincidence. If battery is upside down may cause distortion of the housing.
Look at fob carefully and ensure that you feel each switch operate and release. Pop it apart and check the battery is correct and right way up.

Thanks for your answers :) I had a look at the battery and it's all fine. One of the buttons seems to be pushed in more than two others, so I assume that's the problem. I tried opening the key to have a better look, but I failed :( any guides how to do that?
Does anybody know if Timpson or anybody else would be able to just change the case if it's faulty and how much this could cost?

There is at least one thread on here somewhere that describes how to replace the fob with one from Ebay, transferring all the internals from one to the other. Keep searching for "key" or "fob", hopefully it'll appear. Or someone will paste a link in this thread.

Edit: Found these, hopefully they may help. If not have a search yourself, and have a good read.
