Hi guys, new to this forum as I found it while searching for some stuff on Fiats.
I just bought a Fiat Stilo 1.2 3dr as my first car, having passed my test last year but not being able to afford insurance untill now, took it for a test drive/small drive and found the throttle is very sensitive.

Is there anyway I can make it 'less sensitive' or a less responsive to revs I guess, I only need to rest my foot on it and it begins reving up lol. It may be that I havent driven in a very long time / not barely driven at all, but would like to try and sort this before taking it on the road again, last thing I want to do is take it out and have a panic moment haha.

Any help is appreciated, thanks everyone :)

The 1.2 is throttle by wire so can be sensitive to input! Plus its a small 1.2 16v engine, so its revvy by nature!

Firstly you shouldn't just be testing your foot on the throttle and revving it. You apply throttle when it gear to facility forward (or backwards) movement!

If what your saying is you plant the throttle half down hike driving and the car keeps on accelerating, well all cars do that, if you've not driven for a while and are still a novice driver it will take time to judge how much throttle is the right amount!

By the way! Welcome to the forum and more specifically the best Stilo motor around (although I may be slightly biased as I've had my 1.2 for 10 years now!)

The Stilo is a good car to work on in general and the 1.2 pretty easy to maintain! Just don't go expecting to be able to mod the engine other than a sports panel filter!

Thanks for the input, yeah i've been taking it out for a few spins now that I have insurance on it, and slowly getting use to it. Figured its because I havent driven in a year, as i'm now getting use to it and not finding it so revvy. Yeah the Stilo is nice, my first car lol. Black 3dr, 2002 :p

I dont plan on 'modding' it as such, just doing it out as a hobby, the interior, cleaning it up and just making it 'my' car really :)
Again, thanks for your help :)
