Grande Punto My first car, GP Active 1.2

Introduction

Hi all,
Thought I would show my car to see what people think!
Just needs some white alloys, my 57i induction kit should come soon, maybe some other mods not sure though at the moment!

new photo, just painted the bonnet trim, needs another coat or so but pretty good at the moment!

Any suggestions?
Ive changed a few things since, ill post pics when i can :D

Edit: Outside is pretty much finished :)
Thought it was about time to have a decent induction kit on the car, most will claim it's pointless I personally have noticed better throttle response and of course the nice noise ;) I also personally really didn't like the standard Fiat setup slap bang above the exhaust manifold.

Used viper silicone parts and aluminium to join them together with jubilee clips I think they're called, put a twin cone filter in the same place as a gsr setup would be, the silicone joining to the filter expands by 10mm which I presumed would help with airflow, oil breather connects into the silicone via a drilled hole and a plastic connector, and I put a small breather on the vacuum pipe instead of blocking it off not too sure what the benefit is of having it either blocked or unlocked.

Also got a cold air feed that points through the front right fog cap and is aimed at the filter to stop heatsoak when driving, could maybe do with a heat shield between the filter and manifold though.

Got a few other parts to fit to the car including new cam shaft and mk2 decat manifold that I both got for less than 50 quid which imo is a bargain, bored out throttle body would be nice but I can't seem to find one.

After I've fitted them ive got myself a free custom remap so I thought why not ey :D
I'll be surprised if anyone actually read all that :p

Thanks mate nice to hear compliments for a change haha :)
Aye yes it's not all about trying to turn them into something they're not!
Could you send me a picture of that itg induction kit you have fitted? Im interested in how you have set it up

Pretty much the same as the way you have although mine is an ITG Maxogen enclosed induction kit but at the start of the intake pipe I have a ITG Maxogen 99mm cone filter gives a little extra noise mate.

Well I like it and thats what counts to me lol ?

Sounds good I might change it to a foam filter like itg sometime soon not too happy with the cotton tbh I would think that foam has better filtration too. And aye mate even if a k&n induction kit makes you happy it's all that matters haha :D

Quick update, probarly the last update I'll post on here, maybe some final photos later on or something :)
Got a white spoiler fitted and the boot smoothed over, £170 for bodywork and £40 for a gp boot that had a spoiler on it.

(the yarris on the left is 10x better to drive than the gp, wouldn't mind one myself :p flappy paddle gearbox the lot)

Now officially done with the car, the master cylinder is now starting to go, new gearbox making some noises, no point spending more, it's been a hole in my pocket for 11 odd months now, I'm currently waiting on a years no claims for a new car, hopefully a megane 225, 20 petrol turbo, 225bhp stock, 250 with a simple remap, easily could work up to 300bhp which would make me happy.

They're cheap 2nd hand, 2.5k! Compared to 8k odd for a 2nd hand 1.4 turbo , high milage ones usually have all their problems ironed out too, and also not a bad looking car is one of the sporty colours.

Has been a mixed time on here, but I suppose with most forums you get the keyboard warriors, would like to say thanks to anyone that's gave me advice along the way as theres some unreal cars on here especially in the gp section.

-Kyle

Edit:
Forgot to mention some other mods I had done but not updated on.

Full stainless system from my 421 john ashley decat manifold, done by exhaust a fix in darlington for 300 since the gp one fell off... Highly recommended place for exhaust related issues.

Tinted reay 2 windows as well as the rear lights with fly eye tint, done by tint team in middlesbrough highly recommended again £150 all in superb job with not a single bubble.

Hey nice car mate. I've just bought a gp active 1.2 8v and wondering how you fit the angel eyes and do you need to modify it as I've seen tuts with people re wiring the pin connector? Do you have a step by step on it?

Cheers mate although I have a new car now a 1.9 mjet in orange with 200bhp ;)
As for the angel eyes I had got a body shop to fit them, you also have to take bumper off to fit them.
The wiring looked far too complicated for me haha

Sorry just read your last post about getting a new car! Can you remember roughly how much it costs as I've just bought a second hand pair for 100quid. I'm thinking of doing the work myself because I've got a friend who's a mechanic but he won't deal with any electrics so abit of a **** take.

Not a bad price!
And I think he charged 50 quid odd, tbh the bumper alone can be a **** take to get off and on but it's mainly the wires that are the problem on my old car when he did it some wires where connected and some wernt it looked really confusing haha

I don't the bumper will be a problem becuase my friend works in a garage and he can do that bit for me. Yeah I think I'll have to convert the pin connector from the 7 pin connector onto a 14 pin one, or the other way around haha. I hope it looks as nice as it did on yours. How's the mjet? Done any mods on it? I'm thinking of doing some basic mods to look more sleek like a good respray and new alloys and maybe a spoiler.

Yes there's definatly some re wiring to do,
And thank you! I miss it tbh even though when I got the mjet and went back in the 1.2 it felt like it didn't move haha,
This pic shows mostly what I've done to exteriors, it's Preformance mods where I've spend the most attention tbh

Looks awesome! Loving the callipers haha. What kind of performance mods have you done? I'm not gonna bother on my 1.2 as I'm not gonna get anything amazing from it.

Thankyou!
And the calipers are orange now haha.
As for mods it has a straight through exhaust with the mid box left in, no cats etc.
Custom built intake, larger intercooler and larger diameter welded boost pipework.
Hybrid gt1756 turbo, and that's it I think, mapped the classic way on a dyno too.
Yeah don't bother trying for power from the 1.2 I wasted thousands trying to do it, save all your money for something with a turbo haha.
Clio 182s are rapid and are going really cheap atm
