Grande Punto My punto grande so far.....

Introduction

Hi all, I have had my punto for nearly a year now and it was completely standard from the start... It's not been without its problems, I had a seized rear caliper which I had to send away to be refurbished, I've had a vacuum pipe on the turbo split due to deterioration and lastly but certainly now least I had total engine failure at 76k :'( however after 16 New valves, some head work, New set off gaskets, timing belt, coil pack, plugs and filters and oil... It's up and running better than ever :) so far I've repainted the rear calipers yellow and fitted new discs and pads, tinted the three rear windows and disconnected the excess turbo air recycling crap that takes the left over turbo pressure and feeds it back into the intake and placed a breather filter on the electronic actuator just to give that whoosh sound :)

Hopefully weather permitting I will fit my custom induction this afternoon and then should here the turbo a bit more...

Looking to exchange turbo for vl36 along with a remap, but will be going cat back ss exhaust first as I here there are some good gains to be had doin this first :)

Will be dropping it to the floor once exhaust in place, just springs as coil overs are just to much for day to day use me thinks and then prob some abarth headlights...

Well that's all I can think off for now lol there is probably so much more to do but that's enough for now.... I'll add some pics and keep updating as it go's along.... Any advice or recommendations gratefully received :D
Some more pics I just found :)

Looking really good, the plans also sound good as well!
Its a shame about the engine failure, sounds likes the cambelt snapped?? I bet that cost a pretty penny to fix!
Hopefully it wont happen again :)

Keep up the good work dude!

I do more than hope I just pray lol it cost about 1500 to fix, I had cambelt done four months beforehand... Garage said that something had entered the intake getting stuck in the valves somehow tho not damaging the turbo at all?!???! So after many repairs it's back :D little nervous off putting induction kit back on but I honestly do not believe what they said and believe they were robbing me as I had to take it to the garage I bought it from because off warranty

Have decided to build my own gsr like induction kit :D will price it all tomorrow... Just don't want to pay that much for the forge induction kit and am sure I can build something far cheaper with good results :) should be a project....

Well I fitted a temporary induction kit last night as I just couldn't wait to have mine put together next week and it sounds amazing.... Acceleration is greatly improved :D I would recommend a induction kit to everyone, I know it's only temporary but the power gain seems to be substantial. Here's a few pics until my parts arrive next week and I can make this damp thing properly..... I understand it's not getting as much cold air as it could bit I only drive two miles to work and it's only for a week or so... I just couldn't wait :D

Well took off my engine cover this morning only to find a lovely present from the garage that cost me a arm and a leg to fix my punto.... A completely destroyed bolt in the top off my engine

Well haven't posted for a while due to work and being so busy, however I have made time for a few bits off work to the car... I have redesigned my induction kit again taking the filter down towards the bumper for lots off lovely cold air :D ordered my silicon induction pipes from samco in yellow to match my calipers, had to do the dreaded MOT however I was surprised it sailed through without a single advisory :D although my exhaust is looking bit worse for wear :( and thinking about removing the center box and putting a straight through pipe to a after market back box..... Just not sure how this will affect things? Any comments or advice would be grateful, I would ideally like a stainless system but cash is low for time being. I have also fitted some in Car blue led lights just for fun and a under Car led kit red at the back, white at the front and Orange at the sides which work with the indicators. Just for a bit off fun really as I got is all very cheap but think it looks ok :) still so so much to do but will keep posting as I go on.... Here's a few pics...

Bearing in mind this is just my opinion (stating as a lot of people seem to forget this and bite back). Those LED's on the side are gawddd awful. The fact you have 3 colours on 3 different sides, and the sides work with your indicators. Oh my, words fail me. If they were all one colour, and just used for static car meets i'd feel differently.

Nice GP aside from that.

See I was not sure how it would look so I thought I'd chuck them on... I've never done this before so thought I'd give it a try lol they don't look the best I agree and I am considering replacing them with one colour, just a bit off fun really lol as I got them for a steel :D thanks for the comments tho :)
