Re: Hello :)

Nah don't paint the bonnet black, it will look like you have replaced a damaged one with a second hand bonnet and not bothered to repaint it. It only looks good if it's actually carbon fibre, even then it depends on the car. That's my opinion anyway

i totally agree
i keep thinking of doing a yellow sided black top throughout punto but most people would probably think its a junkyard repair

The scratches are very deep and pretty much circle the whole of the bonnet
You'd be surprised how much good a proper machine polish with a suitable compound would do

Re: Hello :)

Anything will soon get scratched to buggery if a cat takes a liking to it. There are safe cat repellents. Citrus spray? I'm guessing that the scratches are the result of the cat climbing up on the bonnet to get to the roof -- excellent perch to seek out prey.

Re: Hello :)

Another option sniper kitty v12, cruel but effective

But there are cat repellants out there that claim to repel
Stick some around a circle of the car see if that helps

Re: Hello :)

Right I'm finally going to try and tackle my scratched bonnet.

I've got myself an orbital polisher, now I just need to decide what restoration kit to buy.

Can anyone here recommend a good kit?

I've seen in the past people have mentioned G3?

Thanks,

Charlie.

Well after replacing the plugs and coils and repairing the wiring,to great affect - I've finally got myself a G3 kit hoping to sort the bonnet scratches out. Got all sorts of other cleaning bits in the hope of bringing the paint work back to life.

I have new break pads and disks, andall new filters, all ready for the MOT next week, fingers crossed!

On Wednesday my alloys are being refurbished and being sprayed gloss black too which I hope will make the car a look a little more modern.

I've got myself some new pressed plates with nice surrounds.

I have e new head unit along with a pre-amped 12" sub, New mids tweets, coaxles, a Phoenix Gold amp and a new acoustic shelf with a set of 6x9's.

Starting to get her in shape and really make the car my own now, hopefully she will look good for it too.

Will post pics as I go
