So last week I purchased my first Fiat, a 1.2 sport / sporting? Not sure if there is a difference?

Here are a few photos of when the car was purchased:

I'm currently in the middle of fitting a new radio, a new aerial, debadging, de bump stripping, and a general service of the engine / oil etc etc to make sure it's all good in the hood.

Speaking of debadging... Just remembered a 1 from the 16v fell off earlier - so im now driving around as a 6v lol.

Gonna get to work mainly on the inside first tho - so speakers, lights, radio, pedals etc. Then the outside work will begin :)

Will update as I go!

If anyone has any useful tips, tricks or suggestions... Lemme know - you all probs know a hell of a lot more than me.

Hi mate .
I've just bought a 1.2 16v sporting

There not a bad motor/nippy and cheap to run.
The only trouble I've had with puntos is the bonnet catch and oil leaks
Not a bad motor wise.

Heya,

Yeah, im currently getting 48 mpg out of it (Mostly town driving) - I haven't noticed any oil leaking (nothing under the car when parked anyway), although i can smell something hot when stationary after driving for a while. Not sure what that is yet.

48mpg your lucky mate

I'm only getting 41-42 tops round town 50plus if i can get 6th on the motor way.

I've crossed over from derv puntos- so I'm new to the petrol ones.

Spent all day playing a game with myself in traffic trying to get the mpg to reach 50, wasn't happening. Dropped to 44 now lol.

Oil change is done, oil filter is done, Sony xplod GT560 radio is installed - ish - just gotta change a few wires round. Seems fiat have a different standard, the ignition live wire goes nowhere lol.

Hopefully will get the tapedy tap tap engine sorted soon so it sounds more like a car, and not an electric go kart.

Excellent stuff (y)
It seems the sport gets slightly more mpg than the sporting
Weird eh..
Oh cheaper tax by a few quid too.

Always a + :)

Doesnt the sporting have aircon? If so - would have loved it the other day, by the time i got to work, my back was already sweating lol. Wasn't good before starting a 13hr shift.

Nah.. no aircon .. idont want aircon anyway it never works lol.
ERM... sunroof /and 6speed box.. every think else is pretty much the same.
A few more extra horses /and oil leaks thrown in for free too.
