Tipo (Classic) 1992 Tipo 1.7D

Introduction

Just posting a few pics of my Tipo diesel project, I bought it 12 months ago, its a slow burner as a baby in the house means little free time! I had many Tipos years ago but moved away from fiats. Its a bit of a shed sadly but it was heading to the crusher if I did not buy it. Everything is worn out, the only redeeming feature is the engine and gearbox are good. I have a stockpile of parts built up but need more, I shudder when I think of all the good parts I binned over the years as I thought I would never have a Tipo again! The seats are in very poor shape so not sure what I will do with those. At the moment all the front suspension is removed bar the front subframe which is next on the list for removal. More pics to follow.
stephen, just thought id post on your thread to bring it back up in the list again, as nothing appears to be happening lately(?). i hope the work is still progressing ok.
<|> my thread on rear subframe mounting bushes will continue as soon as im clear of work on other cars, ones that are either on the road or which are attempting MOT shortly. meanwhile it would be nice wouldnt it if the active bluejohn would respond to my shouts in his direction on there, asking for a little RSF related info.. takes all types though as they say and i have nothing but praise for him when hes paying attention and providing that erstwhile support hes famous for (on here at least).
<|> anyways stephen get to it !! (with your project). as the old fellah from middle of last century crucially said "if youre going through hell.. keep going"

Thank you for the support yaztaz, I would dearly love to be devoting more time to the tipo but it is located some distance from where I am living, also lack of time and money is not helping the case! I had a poke around the tipo today, it's parked at my grans place and oh dear oh dear the rust is scary. I found some misguided souls attempt to patch up the rear chassis leg and boot corners with fibreglass... I really need to just get the old girl on her side and work from front to back with the welder. My parts car on the other hand has a perfect floor pan but the roof looks like a piano was dropped on it. Time is non existent so progress and updates infrequent. Also a number of Rover P6 on the go has the tipo well down the priority list. I wish you the best with your tipo and I will update when I can.
