I recently bought a mint punto mk1 having lost my mk2 sporting due to cam belt failure. My new car has black bumpers and I tried tesco's own make of back to black which is really good and cheap. It lasts about a week or so and I have driven in a couple of rain storms and it was still ok. So next time your in tesco buying your groceries go to the motoring section and buy some. It works great on your tyres too especially if you live in the country as I do and need to dress the tyres regularly.

Bit of a random one, but isn't the mk2 the same fire engine as the seicento mpi? If it is then te a none interference engine and doesn't cause damage then the cambelt snaps.
In all truth dude I could have repaired the mk 2 but the mk1 is in such good condition with a lot less miles on the clock and I have not had a mk1 before so I let the mk 2 go.

Your mk2 looked nice, love the wheels - did you keep them for the mk1? I reckon they would look great on a mk1, i was watching a set on ebay recently but they went over my top bid :(

Got any pics of the mk1??

Depends on model, all the 8v engines whether spi or mpi are non-interference engines... All the 16v engines are not, so cambelt changes are much more important on the 16v's as when they go its much more of a big deal ;)
