Panda (Classic) My new (old) panda 4x4 sisley project

Introduction

oh well is never to late to be a new owner of an old panda 4x4:D
picked car up today that i won last week on ebay auction and i already love it
is a big project and does look rough but floorpan and sills are incredibily solid considering the car is from 1989!!
included in the sale were a lot of spare parts and im very pleased with it:slayer:
interior is complete but needs a good clean:yuck:
there are some pics for you all panda fan and hopefully this sisley will be back on road for summer;)
just a quick update guys
as i have no space at my house the panda is at my friend house were work should begin next week with a bit of help from him aswell:)
the only worry that i have is really finding some spares that are hard to get but ill get my family in italy to look for the parts that i need:D

now the good news is that the N/S door is solid and with superficial rust and can be saved!
the same cannot be said about the O/S door but luckily the seller gave me a panda door not mint but with a bit of angle grinding is good to be saved too!
i also got 2 marbella doors thrown in, solid but with superficial rust and they are surplus to requirement so if anybody wants them send me a pm and i can send more pics of them
i will be posting more pics next week and looks like the angle grinder is gonna be my best friend for a week or so:p

When you say "family in Italy" are they the type of family that makes offers you cannot refuse? ;)

Those seat doors will make good spares for Dragon Man if his ever need replacing :p

they are not mafia family
i was born and raised in italy and emigrated in uk when i was 17 year old but all my family except my older brother are still over there
i always been an alfa man and finding spares sometime is difficult over here so i always ask my dad to find me something that i cannot find over here(y)

they are different from Dragon Man on the inside as they have the short door fabric like panda ones

right guys not much is been happening due to the really bad weather that we had up here:mad:
the marbella doors have been sold and i bought a new ignition coil, plug leads and distributor cap
car is a non starter and had no voltage from ignition coil hence why i replaced it (see photo)
plug leads and distributor cap were rough and as they are cheap to buy is worth replacing them and one of the leads was broken as i found out
but the panda still refuses to start, there seems not to be any spark:confused:
i sprayed easy start but nothing was happening and i also noticed the fuel filter was dry and no fuel was getting in to it
as im used to cars were i plug my laptop and the ecu tells me whats wrong im a bit baffled:confused:
if anybody as any suggestion it would be apreciated(y)

It's not the connection...it's the module itself. Do you know what I mean?? It sits on the dizzy and looks like a big heatsink.

yes i know what you mean
im guessing it can only be replaced and not fixed?
do you think i should replace the full distributor or just the module?
also fuel filter dry means fuel pump is gone too?

Fuel pump cheap and easy fix..try using the gravity fed method with a petrol can first to get it running. Yep the module would need changing IF it's duff. One sold last week on eBay cheap..can cost a fair bit or a new one. Or you could dump it all for a old style dizzy set up.

Have you checked you have an ignition feed to the coil? Should just be able to replace the module.

It will take a while for fuel to get pumped up from the tank as it will have all drained back. If the pump is not the best it might struggle to do this so you may need to prime it manually. A good pump should have no problem sucking it through but it will take at least 15 seconds to do so.
