Panda (Classic) My new (old) panda 4x4 sisley project

Introduction

oh well is never to late to be a new owner of an old panda 4x4:D
picked car up today that i won last week on ebay auction and i already love it
is a big project and does look rough but floorpan and sills are incredibily solid considering the car is from 1989!!
included in the sale were a lot of spare parts and im very pleased with it:slayer:
interior is complete but needs a good clean:yuck:
there are some pics for you all panda fan and hopefully this sisley will be back on road for summer;)

Run a live wire front the battery to the left side of the (solid state) coil, chuck an eggcup full of petrol straight down the carb throat.

Spin the engine over....... Something should go bang...... if it doesn't put a plug lead onto a spare (loose) spark plug; earth it onto the rocker cover and spin the engine.

If you have spark but the engine wont run (after dosing it) then make sure that all carb linkage is free to move, servo take off isn't leaking at the manifold.

Try harder

I have put a plug from ignition coil and no spark to it even know that the coil has 12v going to it
Splashed fuel to carb and simply nothing happened other than engine turning over
Carb linkage is fine and there is no restriction on movement
Everything is bolted on fine and no air leaks
Has to be something wrong with that distributor module to explain no spark

The ignition module controls the spark so it could be that - they are a pain in the neck!! Usual symptoms when they are breaking are a car which won't run when hot - this gets worse and ends with no spark or a very weak & irregular one. A broken one would give the symptoms.

Can't see a picture in the Ebay link but that's a good price if the right one. I have several somewhere (after the chaos mine caused, including a faulty replacement!!) so can double check the number if it you have an Intermotor part number?

Is there also a fuel problem? Mine also did that at a different time which was the short hose from fuel pump to carb - perished out of sight & throwing the fuel onto the manifold - at least the car wouldn't start or run, so didn't catch fire!! (y)

Well guys not much is been happening with my sisley, still no spark even after a new module and looks like a new full distributor is needed with a new fuel pump too as no fuel is been pumped:rolleyes:
So while i was part hunting i came across another sisley in running order but with serious rust issue but complete ish:what:
So yeah now after an 800 mile round trip i now own 2 fiat panda 4x4 sisley:eek: and another one is been saved from the scrapyard were it was going...:D
I think im gonna be able to make one very good sisley out of two cars and plus have a lot of spares or bits to sell :D
Slow progress but weather is warming up so things will be progressing very quickly hopefully!

there is some pictures for all
to be honest i dont really like to break the car in bits and use it as donor car but i think is the best option
enjoy(y)
