Panda (Classic) My Panda CLX

Introduction

Hi All

I am new to the forum and the Fiat Panda scene. I have just purchased a 1993 Panda 1000 CLX she has 75000 on the clock. She is in need of some TLC as she has been sitting in a workshop for the passed 7 months unused and neglected.

At a quick glance she needs a new exhaust manifold to head gasket, two new tyres and possibly a set of new front brake pads for the MOT.

She has a few bits of trim missing, both doors at the bottom rear corner have rust scabs and a couple of small dents to sort. I will add some photo's of her shortly.

Mark

Here's some photo's

Welcome. Looks a nice little car, maybe worth letting us know whereabouts you are so you can contact your closest Panda parts cache. There's a few on here with magical sheds full of bits! Not that it soundslike you need a lot right now(y)

Yes thats the one I had been trying to contact the seller for to days when it was at £21.00 on ebay but seller had diverted the land line to the wrong mobile. I purchased it for £200.00 as advertised on his website. There was also a white Panda that finished a day or two earlier that went for £205.00 that looked a bit battered on the off side and needed a new clutch or gearbox but that one was to far from my home.

Having done a search on glasses guide there is no mention of a cat being fitted but I will check tomorrow.

I have also been looking the fine examples of the Classic Panda on the site and hope I can do mine justice. I am a firm beleaver in keeping cars as they come from the factory however if a nice set of alloy wheels from another model sets it off then I am all for it.

Does anyone know where I can get the Exhaust manifold gasket from. Mark

Fiat, eBay of motor factors for the gasket... Sorry it has a cat, most likely just down from the manifold. This was then changed to under the car later on. This was to comply with the dreaded emissions. Need an earlier panda to escape the ECU and cat stuff.

I have had quite a few newer cars full of ruddy computers that cost a fortune to put right. So I thought I would start of with a smaller car in need of some light restoration work. I liked the look of the Panda and it fitted the bill perfectly and was the right price,
and as far as I am aware no ruddy computers I hope.

Whoops. Only one ECU under the dash ;)

Well managed to pick up two good part warn tyres yesterday, I have also ordered the new exhaust manifold gasket and some new discs and pads for the front as they are well worn the back plates are very corroded so will have to come off and be treated and repainted. I will hopefully check the rest of her over latter to day ready for and MOT.
