Panda (Classic) My Panda CLX

Introduction

Hi All

I am new to the forum and the Fiat Panda scene. I have just purchased a 1993 Panda 1000 CLX she has 75000 on the clock. She is in need of some TLC as she has been sitting in a workshop for the passed 7 months unused and neglected.

At a quick glance she needs a new exhaust manifold to head gasket, two new tyres and possibly a set of new front brake pads for the MOT.

She has a few bits of trim missing, both doors at the bottom rear corner have rust scabs and a couple of small dents to sort. I will add some photo's of her shortly.

Here's some photo's

The only think stopping getting on with the repairs is the British weather been cold and wet here in Eastbourne today.

New discs and pads ordered
New exhaust manifold gasket ordered
Replacement tyres fitted

Next job is to remove the back place and clean it up and treat for rust then paint Black.

I thought I had managed to locat both door hinge covers but the supplier has two different pattens anyone happen to have any spare that are in good condition, also need one centre hub cap see photo's

I realise your new so I should mention...any parts you need for your car please don't ask in a thread. What you need to do is put a wanted ad up. It's easy to do. What you can do in a thread is say you have posted a wanted ad up then we can all have a look.

Just as we'd managed to put this one behind us you've brought it back into the painfull spotlight.

HI All

Is it a common fault thet even when stationary the speedo shows 5MPH?

The near side font brakes are now all most complete stripped down completely cleaned, treated and painted the brake protector and partially reassembled.

Before...............................................After should now last a few years

Still waiting for discs and pads to arrive so will be fitting new exhaust manifold gasket to morrow.

As the car can with no MOT or Tax I have not been able to take it on the road. The tank was almost empty with the fuel warning light on so I picked £6.00 worth of petrol in a can and put it in the tank but still shows empty and light still on.

I have named her Holly due to a few small spikey bits I court my hands on. (Now cleaned off)

Lots of the fuel gauges work, some are more interesting! I have one which reads 1/4 when it's full, and empty the rest of the time - I just note the mileage on a post it note & refill every 200 ish miles - part of the old car experience (fun) (y)

A question I would like to and a photo next to my thread would some please tell me how I do this?

Thank You

Ah! I get what you're asking now.

If you are using the Gallery to save your pictures and posting them from there you should have the pics automatically appear on a 'shuffle' basis. If you are doing this already you need a Forum techy to sort it for you.

Edit:

On the subject of gauges, all should be treated as giving an approximation. ;)
