Grande Punto iPunto90's Grande Punto 1.4 T-jet Sporting, Black!

Introduction

Hi everyone! :D

Here's my member motor thread on my Sporting, i'd been looking for a AGP (Abarth Grande Punto for you newbies) and having looked i couldnt find a nice example with reasonable mileage for less than £9000+ at the time so as cool as Abarth's are it was steep so i decided to get a Tjet and make it my own!! So basically heres the story and update!

I bought the car from TJ Vickers from Telford in June 2012 for £5000 with 37,000 miles on the clock! It's so much better than my previous Grande Punto (1.3 dynamic), It looks so much better and was the best looking Sporting i saw whilst looking around, the customer service at TJ Vickers was fantastic, having to travel 2.5 hours from blackpool to get there the salesman put sold signs on the car because of the travel and reserved the car for me! (plug over with).

It's so much better than my old car, insurance hasnt really gone up, it looks alot better being a Series2 with the dark headlights, the silver dashboard, carbon dash surround, new silver dials, the thicker steering wheel and gearstick and of course THE SEATS! It obviously sounds ALOT better than my diesel and the performance is AMAZING from a little 1.4, i've had the car 8 months now problem free and even today the performance amazes me and my friends!

Got BIG plans for it but for now.. Here how it was when i picked it up! (y)

Yeah the registration on the logbook say 31st january 2009! and thanks for the comments guys i appreciate it, i'll update with pictures and stuff as it happens! (y)

Lee, fuel wise compared to my 1.3 diesel punto and my gf's 1.4 8v in town and getting about its the same really except its just when your right foot gets heavy or some chav try's it on it can lower your MPG but its only on long journeys you notice the difference, but as i barely do any long journeys im not too bothered!

Eibach sportlines are in the plans dont worry! aha and 24 hours later and the car is shiny as shiny as its ever been, dispite spending the night driving around with my mates, usually after going out in it even when its dry its not as clean or shiny but this new stuff seems to be the dog's dangly bits.. it took 1 hour to completely clean the outside to that standard! ;)

Having to order something else of the internet to get some different videos of my exhaust as my camera seems to be the same as recording it with a potato! should be sorted next week.. :)

Yeah thanks, i always like my car very clean and tidy so when it's as clean as that then it makes driving it even more enjoyable! :)

as requested; here are some interior shots as i havent really shown how nice the series 2 sporting is on the inside compared to the series 1 and non sporting models!

Here is how clean and tidy it was on the day of cleaning..

bit of a update; nothing major but quite a funny story, i was pulled over by tarffic police the other night on my way home for a random stop check and whilst he was checking everything out we had a 5 minute chat about my car and he was saying how nice it looks, if it sounded nice and was asking me how fast it is and about the performance! :) it was great, nice to see law enforcemant big up the punto, my punto! so rather than driving off feeling harassed, i drove off feeling rather happy with myself and my car! (y)

So there you go, not all police are tw@'s.. just a select few! :D

Cars looking mint! Is your back box a stock abarth one? Im picking mine up along with the rest of the exhaust apart from the downpipe this week, whats the noise difference like?

Cheers Tom, i'm really impressed with how its looking at the moment although it will look 10x better when im done with it! I like yours too, looks great.. Series 2 Brothers! ;) aha, i wanted a white one too but they all had high mileage and was too expensive but im happy with black!

Yeah mines just a standard one, my mate had a esseesse one on his but it looks and sounds no different if im honest but i only paid £70 for it, brand new so bargain!! The noise is alot better than standard, definately but bear in mind if its a new one like i got it will take about a fortnight of daily driving to wear in, as it were because mine sounded quiet at first. But it sounds great, quite a deep bellow and sounds sporty for a standard exhaust system when you put your foot down, i cant wait to get a custom one when i get round to modifying it completely! Esseesse exhaust! ;) Making me miss my series 2, those seats were so comfy! :(
Is the rubber on the dash some sort of slip proof stuff yeah? can't wait to see this with some eibachs (y)

Yeah the seats (without sounding stupid) is one of the best thing about my car.. they look, for standard seats, the dog's dangly bits! i had 4 people incl. me before and got out and even with 3 people on it looks lowered so cant wait to actually do it! :D and yeah it was 50p from b&m's and it works, i even tried it out going round a corner fastish and my phone stayed put! :slayer:
