Here is a Pic of my new Punto 1.8 HGT I pick it up on Monday night.



I paid £995 for it and its the cheapest car I've ever bought!

The paint work isn't as perfect as that pic appears but nothing you wouldn't expect for a £1k car.

Should do the job to commute to work

Its a 51 Reg and it is in decent nick for the age and money, the only real let down are stone chips on the front bonnet where you would normally have a grill.

I might get some quotes to see how much it would be to get that bit sprayed.

Its a little different to my normal commute car a Mercedes B Class but the mrs has stolen that off me!

Get it undersealed and you'll be all set for many years to come

Basically, it depends on whether you do it yourself (messy; but you know it's been done right); or pay for someone to do it.... After undersealing my own cars for years, I would now struggle to do so (for health reasons): and therefore recently paid a garage I trust to do it for me... -- including a damn' good clean, first; removing any loose old stuff; and treating any rust (which, thankfully, there wasn't any of...), etc.. It cost me £120, including materials and labour... -- and saved me a lot of grief....

Make sure it's had the cambelt change recently. If it hasn't you're looking at a £300+ service bill

I asked the garage to check the belt for me. Its got a huge pack of receipts I will look at when I pick it up.

on the other thread it says 81k

Now i dont know the HGT service history, but either its WAY overdue risk snapping any minute or its recently had one done

Nice car! One of two Puntos I'd willingly own.

If you buy the tools, cambelt change -- do the water pump at the same time -- is relatively unproblematic. You can always sell the tools on when/if you sell the car.

Looks like you got a right bargain, looks like a really nice tidy car, well done!!
