Grande Punto My Orange Fiat Grande Punto 1.9 Sporting

Introduction

Hi Guys!

I know I already have a thread in the GP section about my car but wanted one in here aswell as I know some people dont look in the GP section unless they actually own a GP and I though others may like to hae a look at my car (y)

So As with all new cars there is offten an old one. My 1.2 mk2 punto abarth was completly stock apart from the abarth lettering in the grill :slayer:

Which I part exchanced for this. 1.9 sporting

My first mod was a new head unit which I did the day I had the car abarth headlights shortly followed then a set of abarth alloys, a badgless grill and some eibach sportlines. (1st pic is before sportlines)

Future mods:
Abarth brake lights
Tint rear 3 windows (maybe)
Abarth or red fiat badge (not sure which-suggestions would be nice)
Replace foggy foglights
Cold air intake (CDA BMC replica) or K&N induction but i'm told they sound awfull.

Thanks for looking

Jordan.
Vinyled my steering wheel up

Then I tried this :yum:

I like the abarth badge although I took it off for the time being but if I did put it back on the OCD in me would make me get the boot bagde to match.

Oppinions on how it looks or what badge/sticker would look good are welcome.

She is going to the garage tomorrow for gearbox repairs :( so i'll let you all know what curtesy car I get :p

Like the steering wheel. Dislike the abarth badge. Putting abarth badges on a non-abarth is a cardinal sin IMO. Tacky as wack!

But i love your car other than that! Ask for a Panda twinair if its at fiat ;) Sooooo fun. I test drove one 2 weeks ago, actually loved it!

Its just plain carbon fiber effect for now mate I agree with you big time about the abarth thing and as I have a diesel it would be so disrespectful to abarth as a tuning company for stick there lovely scorpions all over my orange banana (don't ask long story lol). I wanted a fiat too and infact I pulled up next to a mk2 in blue like my old car.....

sorry to hear about the gearbox :/ what symtoms did you have, lets hope you get it back in all working and fixed :)

i bet its a daewoo.

Usual symptoms mate whining in 5th and 6th gearstick movement in 1st 5th and 6th general clunky gearbox even when warm might have caught it earliy enough for it to have not caused to much damage but I love this car so is definatly worth getting fixed. Did you get any further with your window thing you mentioned you was looking at cctv?

.......AND no not a Deawoo or Fiat I got.... of all the cars in a used car showroom........ A Renault Clio on a Y reg :slayer: Its is a shed and cant handle the snow at all but it gets me from A-B for the time being I will get a pic up tomorrow when its light I'v christened it Chloe the clio after a french girl I knew in school called Chloe.... I didn't like her either :)

Here is a picture of Chloe the Clio.

We are getting on great she managed to get me to work with no issues (apart from a cracky radio) she managed to sit in the car park at work allllllll day without even falling over once (I was so pleased ) but the best part was after I put the window down (to put the code for the gate in at work) she decided that I may get too warm on my way home ( - tempretures outside and snow all over) so left the window down all the way home for me I was well pleased :bang: so I will be bodging that on my dinner break tomorrow thanks Chloe!

I HAVE MY CAR BACK!!

But 1st this happened! after the window issue with Chloe (the clio) and a very cold drive to work the next day I decided it would be a good idea to contact the garage to tell them what had happened they told me my car could be finnished and would I be able to bare the cold for another morning if not! and could I cover the window to stop it gettng damp inside :bang: so I crossed my fingers and said yeah. After work I found some clear plastic sheet in the work garage so dicided to make a window out of it I cut it with a screwdriver marking it on the window then scoring it and smashing off the end, this was the reasult.

Still a gap so I fixed that with some BIG tape

And there you go instant window. Best part about it was there was no rattles and it kept me warm on the way to the garage that rang me after the window was Bodged! I mean fixed lol
so here she is back at my sisters house with new bearings in the box :)and a large amount of cash out of pocket  good news is the whining has stopped and the gear changes are much smother rhan before.

As you can see like a numpty I didnt put my winter wheels on before the snow :bang: and dont fancy jacking the car up on an icey road (could the jack slip? so i am taking extra care not to kurb my lovely wheels.

Favourite orange GP right now, sorry lads! haha your car really is stunning mate! (y) am I crazy in thinking the front quarter panel is, ever, ever so slightly not lined up right? Might be my wonky eyes again!

Cheers mate I appreciate that especially with all the AMAZING orange gp's on here to mention Reuuk for one (y) (love your car mate)
And yes your very right that would be the reasult of me fitting headlights and my bumper changing shape it's either a slight misline at the pannel or a huge gap under the light.

Phew it's not my eyes haha sorry to point it out just couldn't help noticing it, lovely all the same! :D

new picture mate with the drop looks spot on, makes the wheels stand out more :D

as for the jack, just put your winters in the boot and drive to a indoor car park or something :) I very much doubt the jack would slip tbh. but better to be safe than sorry! take care on those roads don't want to ruin though wheels do we ;)

I need to do that I think mate I think they have given out more snow for the weekend??? And I had a little skid this morning nothing serious just didnt see a patch of ice

I would love to see @Jordan92 @Reuuk and @Gr3g GP's altogether. Three amazing orange GP's.

Regards
Stephen

That would be great (With S1MO too) if wee could all get together. When I brought my car the sales man said it was 1 on 3 orange 1.9's in the country I just laughed at him knowing I had seen about 10 on this forum before I signed up.
