Re: "Phoebe" the 90hp 1.3MJ

So I've gone and got her some Eibach's after all I said only the Pro-kit though, so the drop shouldn't look too ridiculous.

Got a recommended garage here to fit them, however I'm wondering if anyone's had problems of their mudguards scraping after lowering? Mine do sometimes clip the ground when I take a bad camber corner a little quick (every time giving me a mini-heart attack till I remember what it likely is), anyone else had problems with their mudguards after fitting springs? Don't want to have to slice an inch off my OEM ones...

Re: "Phoebe" the 90hp 1.3MJ

She got very muddy after taxiing people paintballing so gave her a well deserved wash today. Looking at the ride height on this picture, my Eibach's can't arrive soon enough!

Re: "Phoebe" the 90hp 1.3MJ

Got my Eibachs fitted Friday, quite pleased with just £89 fitting, and just £3.91 + the admin fee to declare them on the insurance! And being stiffer I find they cope with speedbumps even better than the stock springs. Stupidly quick driving on country roads is now so much more fun too

The springs may take a little while to bed in mate but the car looks really well, love the picture!

Cheers they're second hand from a guy on the forums here (got them very cut price and besides a little dust on them they're perfect) and only the Pro-kit, so I'm not expecting them to bed in much more than they are. The drop is very slightly noticeable, but I just wanted driveability and speedbump-invulnerability, two things I'm very pleased to say I now have

Re: "Phoebe" the 90hp 1.3MJ

I've been thinking of replacing the front reg with a sticker (same modern style, and in same place) to get it to sit flush with the curved front. Any thoughts on this, with regards to both looks and legality? Cheers

Re: "Phoebe" the 90hp 1.3MJ

Finally got round to vinyling the dash! First time I've ever vinyled, was very patient with the hair dryer and pretty damn pleased with the results. Nice little before/after pic (before one being the one on the original advert for my car ):

Re: "Phoebe" the 90hp 1.3MJ

Thought I'd add my ridiculously cheap and reversible ICE setup!

I tried vent mounts and sticky pad dash mounts but they really weren't up to the job (the former snapping the inside of my vents; thankfully not disastrously so). And I hate sucker windscreen mounts for the obscured visibility. So, using the best tool known to man, Velcro (well, 2nd best behind a can of WD40 of course), I've kitted out the dash for a variety of setups!

There's the tiniest bit holding my mp3 player to the right of the screen too. Caniballised the crappy vent Nexus 7 and phone mounts with a bit of velcro (Nexus 7 with right angle charger):

I've had a passenger playing GTA Vice City with a wireless PS3 controller before, feels like a very cool built-in PS2

Most of the time I have it just like this, as the tablet setup obscures the hazards and audio controls, but when I'm using the mp3 player too it doesn't really matter.

Works wonders! And, a double USB charger to finish it off:

Tucks away nicely to the side of the passenger seat well out of the way of the gearstick and handbrake.

Re: "Phoebe" the 90hp 1.3MJ

Thought I'd show off her most recent mods, this time to do with the front. Cupra splitter, red MultiJet badge, and then I thought instead of the regular black grilles, I'd go for matching silver. That, plus Silvatec indicators, and I'm very pleased!
