Uno A-Reg Fiat Uno 70 'Super'

Introduction

Hi,

Just thought i'd share some pics of my newly acquired 1984 Uno 70 super. It has only 2 previous owners ( the first owning the car from new for 26 years! ). Its low mileage having only covered an average of 7000 miles per year ( just ticked over to 184000 ).

Having been registered Febuary 84 and the uno launch in 83 its perhaps got to be one of the earliest examples left. How many left shows only 1 70 'super' taxed which must be this car.

As for condition, The underside is completely rust free as is the upper body, Inside Its had Mk2 uno turbo seats fitted and a Sanyo tape deck with harvard 4 way speaker system which i can only assume has been in since new!

So heres some pictures! will get some better ones in the daylight when i can,

Thanks for the messages,

Its been a great car already, ive done nearly 1000 miles in less than a week without a single problem! Going to get it in the garage for a full service and condition check later this week and then decide what my plans are for it!

So far im thinking some sort of upgraded carb and a nice stainless steel exhaust to start!

Cheers, Greg

Looks great, nice and original. But regarding "tuning" - far better to spend your money and time on an engine (and carb) refresh, to get the most out of what you've already got. Remember the car dates from the pre-emissions mania days, so the carb and exhaust will be relatively simple and free-flowing anyway. There should be plenty of zing in a classic, old-school small Fiat engine...

Nice to see the car on the forum Greg. Glad your happy and it went to someone who has a genuine interest. Had loads of time wasters and people who wanted to run into the ground on ebay.

Thanks i'll definately be getting it properly undersealed, it looks in great condition underneath and want to keep it that way! I can only assume its spent most of its life garaged as its just so rust free for a 26 year old uno!

Going to hopefully get it all serviced and possibly fit a new cambelt this weekend, and on the subject of carbs it came with a spare so i'll see about getting it re-furbed and swapping them over,

I also need to look at the gearbox as its notchy getting it into 3rd gear and its leaking oil which makes the clutch a bit juddery. It came with a spare box so should be able to build something good out of the two!

they are some of the most recent mate its been a bit neglected the past month as i have just moved house and have been ill but should be getting back to it very soon

sorry just checked its not a 70 its a 55 super

There just aren't enough beige cars around these days... :) and that Uno wears its beige really well. This thread's just reminded me that Mk1s are so much more beautiful than Mk2s...
