Introduction

This is my 2004 Stilo next to my no-longer owned Punto.

Lows coming soon, and some nice wheels........

I haven't touched this thread in ages! I'm in that situation where I want to post but not much has changed...

Went to look at the rotiforms, and the seller had told me the wrong pcd, so much for that. So a wheel refurb in white or cream is coming!

Smaller jobs i'm hoping to get done include spraying all the plastic grilles with black satin, upholstering the cheap looking plastic on my door cards, and somehow lowering the car. :)

COILIES ARE STUPID EXPENSIVE FOR STILOS :bang:

In the meantime, pictures....

A load of things going wrong at once :bang:

Both my rear tyres are deflating slowly, no sign of a puncture and the local garage couldn't tell me the cause

My oil level keeps dropping without an obvious sign of where the oil is dissapearing! No blue smoke, no leaks etc.

Both NS sidelights blew at the same time

And I have an engine warning light with the code reading as low manifold pressure.

Depending on the cost of putting these things right I may get myself a different car, and it won't be another Fiat.

Did the garage check the valves were ok? I just picked up one of my alloys this afternoon; the tyre was slowly deflating but the garage couldn't find any punctures and a later inspection of the alloy found it was bent (pothole most likely!) causing air to leak out it. Could be the case with yours also? Only cost £15 to fix.

How much oil is it using and over how many days or whatever does it take?

Try cleaning the MAP sensor, could be blocked with oil or dirt throwing up the fault.

A quick update:

The tyre issue was caused by corrosion on the inside of two of my alloys, i bought two new wheels and four new tyres... issue solved.

The engine light was caused by a sensor issue, luckily i was able to sort this out myself over a weekend on the driveway! (y)

And water egress into the headlights caused my lighting issues.

..........

And today my car decided it wanted to eat a crow, so broken front grille!

........

After all this my insurance is up for renewal in May, and it looks like it is going UP! ( even with a completely clean driving history in the family! 54 years of no claims!)

As it is I am itching for stance and an e36 compact or tourer seems to be the solution to my problems, both being cheaper to insure and modify than the fiat.

I should be appearing at Auto Italia Brooklands in the Stilo however, after that it's rwd german cars for me!

Completely solved my Low Oil Pressure warning coming on constantly!

Simply did an Oil flush, Oil, and filter change! Completely erased the problem.

Currently saving up the pennies for a set of FK Coilovers, it's gonna take a while!

I'm glad i stuck with it, far more fun than anything else, and had a lot of people talking to me about it at Brooklands!

I used Ford Graphite Grey on the wheels, i used a bit to little and i can see through to the primer on a few spots. Luckily my friend is starting work as a painter at a huge used car dealership near me and has offered to paint them properly for free! (y)

I was tempted by some Apex 40mm springs earlier, at £140, but being a kayaker I often have to drive on unconventional roads, so an adjustable system would suit my needs better I think.
