Grande Punto Ysidfas White T-Jet

Introduction

Hey guys! Picked up my new ride yesterday, and Im madly in love with it already!

Spec:
- 59 Reg 1.4 16v T-jet Sporting 120bhp
- Bossa Nova White
- Panoramic (Skydome) Sunroof
- Optional extra 5 Spoke 17" alloys
- Factory Rear window tints

I can honestly say, Its fast!!! Coming from driving a 65bhp 1.2 8v active GP, Double the power and almost tripple the torque is such a nice feeling! Pulls to 70 (and a bit more ;) ) sooo easily!

The panoramic sunroof really sets the car off! especially with the 5 spokes :)

Plans:
- Team Heko Wind deflectors (Bought need fitting)
- Re-vinyl pillars and rear roof section to make the whole roof gloss black
- Eibach Sportlines
- Spend countless hours keeping it spotlessly clean (already filty after doing 100 miles on soaking wet roads :( )
- Forge/GSR intake
- Remap

Not 100% sure on tuning it up for serious power (vl36 A500 turbo ect) but its early days yet ;)

Thoughts and comments all appreciated :)
That double pinned white plug looks like the heavy duty motor for the Selespeed pumps on the Dualogic Automatic models. Strange it's there on yours.

I'd assume the other wires / plugs might be linked to this also. Are they secured together

Yeah, they were taped together. Would make sense tbh, just need to find out if theyre wired into all series 2s :p
Hmmm... Automatic conversion?

Got a picture of your car Tom from Revenge Cruise last night. Your camera buddies will have far better for sure, but heres one from me :)

Your car looks absolutely sick mate. What about getting the centre console painted to match the white and black? Do the bit where the radio is gloss black and the other surround gloss white?

Thanks man, always happy to hear positive feedback and ideas :) I like the interior atm, the Carbon dash and the dark silver centre console match the rest of the interior well. I have been looking into getting my dash fake carbon replaced with a real CF skin, just need to bring up the confidence to take the dash out and spend a week getting it done :)

The carbon dash is pretty nifty. You could even keep that and just do the radio bit gloss back or carbon fibre to match. Loving the alloys, where they on the car when you bought it or did you buy them separately?

I like the centre console like it is, the pillars are being trimmed over the winter so I dont wanna have too much black on the inside! :p Maybe one the real CF dash is done ill work on some more Real Carbon bits ;) Weight saving yo!! ;)

your car looks awesome tom. i'd love to get some pics of the mrs punto next to yours, think it would look great.

the mrs never cleans her car though (you'd think if a car is bought for you, you would look after it ) so after four years i think i need to give it some serious pampering, any tips on what i need to get the shiny shine lol

Hey man, sorry for the late reply!
Your best bet is to go for a complete decontamination for a start, Id recommend a wash, using 2 buckets of hot water, one with shampoo in, one none, and a lambswool/microfibre noodle mitt. Google 'two bucket technique'. Once washed, clay it. it removes all the tar spots, bird 'deposits' and other much that the naked eye cant see but that dulls the appearance of the car. Then once clayed, give the car a good rise over, maybe even another quick wash to remove the bits of muck that the clay loosened but didn't absorb. Once washed and dried, apply a solid or paste wax with a high caranuba content (for longevity). This will give a nice solid gloss and shine!
As your only local, Id be more than happy to swing by your place and spend a day on the ol' gal ( by that I mean the car and definitely not your OH ;) ) for the exchange of a couple of cool beverages :)

Drop me a pm dude!

ysidfas im getting a full catback for my tjet next week, would you recommend a 2.5" pipe? Im not sure.

Hey man, ive got a 2.5" cat back from ExhaustsUK in Sheffield! Lots of good reviews! Personally I would go for a mid silencer and no back box to maximise the awesome sound!

On that note, Decat is being fitted VERY soon! :D

Cheers for the quick reply man, really?! I thought people normally have a straight through centre and backbox?
You reckon its better the other way?
I can't have it too loud as I work shifts lol!
