Hi, I live in France and have just rescued a very sad early 4 x 4 commercial classic Panda 1984 from its resting place in a garden. Everything now works well except the gearlinkage is terrible....much shoving and guessing! Where can I get new bush kit...Fiat France dont stock any parts or even have fiches of this car?

here you go man, i am pretty sure Ricambio will ship to France:

however i am not sure if your panda would be classed as an "early model" or a "late model"
i am guessing that if it has the FIRE engine you would need the late model gear linkage set, as it would have the same linkages as mine.
i'd wait till some one else can confirm it though before buying :)

Hi, welcome to the Forum. (y)

A common cause of problems stems from the component shown in this pic....

The gold coloured bracket/ vertical shaft is one part. It has bushes in it but they're not available separately, they could be worn though. Also, the flat link at the top can get sloppy but it's not a simple job of tightening the top nut as the nut is welded in place. It is possible to repair this component though, you just need to find some alternative bushes then grind the weld on the nut away to disassemble it all, then re-weld the nut when you've finished.

Actually, its virtually the same system as a Mk1 Golf , with the same weaknesses...I'll try the Golf bushes in the link as I have a packet of them to hand! I'll report the answers after I try. Thanks Tim
