Cinquecento My Cinq Track Car PEX

Introduction

Hi all I am new here and thought I would share some pics of my on going track car project.
It has a 1242 engine and is about to have a ported and polished head put back on soon, supersprint mani 4-2-1 with decat and stainless mid pipe into rear sportex 3 inch rear can. Avo coilovers with powerflex bushes all round. Punto gt front calipers still need to do the rears, Sparco top brace and lower omp brace and 6 point cage. Chipped ecu, BMC forced induction just a few mods with loads more on too many to list lol.
Welcome to the forum, yeah where have you been, the guys here can be really helpful and sometimes even Dave ;)
Looking good, I'll be interested to see how you get on. Don't ask me anything technical though I haven't got a scooby doo lol

Thank you Rallycinq heres a newbie question lol how do or where do I get one of those and is it a part I can buy?
Thanks Dan I know I can be a lazy ass didnt think this car was good enough tbh until it had it's paint done lol hope you are well :)
Thanks for the welcome Dave (y) it has a way to go and now I wanna find this bigger bob that rallycing has said about.
Hi Andy thanks you know what I am like lol thanks for the welcome :D

Want to get a FiatForum sticker to go on the car as I have afew Fiat based clubs on it so I will be buying that asap.
Here are some pics my mate Chris took he is a pro, shame we didnt have a different location other than the back of my garage but no mot at the moment so it will have to do.

Looks awesome and welcome to the forum :)

Last I remember rallycinq did a bit of a 'Heath Robinson' affair on his 'bob' by cutting 2 up and sticking them together to make the inlet a little larger, so bottom line, if you want it to be less restrictive you'll probably have to go custom.

Looks good. Have you been on track yet? I've got the AVO coilovers too and although they're firm on the road, on the track I'm still getting tons of body-roll. I'm going to try to get a rear anti-roll bar on it ASAP! You might want to think about doing the same too.

thanks mini, like your imola blue looks great :) yeah I have done track time alot and is alot of fun either at Thruxton or Castle Combe. I don't get much roll on mine is yours polybushed? I found this took alot of the roll out. But you most likely have done lol, a rear arb sounds great they have to be custom made I take it?

Wahey! Hey Charlie.. Wondered how long until this thread appeared.

Regarding the bob - you could just get something made up similar to the plenum on my VA tub (just without the extra injector on it). please ignore the oil in the picture, its an old pic when i was having issues but best i have to show what i'm on about. Sure a local engineers near you will be able to knock one up for not alot.

Or i have a bob on the floor in my backyard if you would like to attempt a rallycinq style cut and shut affair. I remember there was a thread with pictures when he made it but was a fair ole time ago now.

Hi Blu

Have you seen my car somewhere brefore lol I so wish we had peeps in Southampton but we dont seem to have any, they do stuff for old jitts like metal fence rail and zimma frames. Unless someone knows of a company I can contact. If not your bob would be great thank you, how much would you want for it?

My rear arms are polybushed, but not fronts. I'm not sure the bushes alone will reduce the roll that much. The anti-roll bar is a custom job, but done with an ARB from another car - possibly an MGF? I'll be seeking clarification on that soon.

just whatever it cost for postage ;) I'll give you a few days to try find someone to make one though as it will looks alot nicer :p

Thanks Blu I will see what I can find and if I cant I will take you up on your bob, thanks for that and Rallycinq's thread as well (y)

I have 3 braces, the polybushes and the 6 point bolted and welded cage also the Avos and I must admit i didnt have roll when the 1108 was in but I may well do now that the 1242 in, I will be interested on what you find out too if thats ok?

Here is the new head that Dave Mr Fix It has done for me a month ago and it was all in £200 which I thought was a very good price for all this; replace stem seals, clean and polish valves, grind in the valves, check spring pressures, port and 120 grit all ports, remove stem guide ends from ports, check and adjust shims, skim engine face, linish exhaust and inlet face, buff head, chem bath all parts, de-burr oil ways, polish combustion chambers, atomisation grooves fitted, de-shroud sparkplugs, 30 degree back cut valves, supply studs, blast cam pulley and bracket, and remail.
Here are some of the pics.

Hello all when I got the car resprayed last year Lee the sprayer did a really great job. I asked him to do the car in two pack as you get a better finish which he did but he also told me that he used a lorry two pack paint as he said if it is going to be a track car you want the paint to be more durable, suits me fine lol.
Here are a few pics of the when I got it back but he has done a fantastic job on the car including the door shuts and finish, he also debadged it and filled in the holes in the tale gate and where the aerial once was.
