Hi all, Just bought myself a fiat seicento sporting michael schumacher in Red. I bought it as a bit of a project as it's an M.O.T failure! and also I plan to use it as a run around to help keep the miles down and wear + tear etc off my BMW M3. I chose the the fiat seicento sporting michael schumacher as I think that it looks pretty funky for a small car and if your going to have a small car then it may as well be a bright looking and fun one?!.

As it stands it's a 2001 y reg with 47k on the clock, It needs a few bits doing to it for the M.O.T, these are what needs doing so far;

Altenator + belt

Battery

2 rear shocks

Exhaust

And a petrol tank!

It needs a damn good clean and t-cut + polish etc. Will give it a full detail when I get it home!. Has a few minor scrapes and a couple of minor dings but all easily sorted. Other than that it's quite a tidy little car, with good tyres/brakes and no rust etc.

Paid a fairly good price for it so should have more than enougth room in what it will be worth in tip top condition to play with....fingers crossed anyway!

I was looking at how to do bits and bobs on the car on Google and this forum kept coming up with really helpful info....so I thought that I'd join up

Here's some of the E-bay pics of the car, will post up some more when I get it home and then show How I get on with it and hopefully it'll end up in tip top condition. I will proberbly be asking lots of silly questions...so please be nice

Ok cars getting delivered on Saturday!!, plans are over the weekend to firstly give it a bloody good clean/detail as it's not been used for a while. Vax the seats and carpets, snow foam the bodywork, clay bar, t-cut and polish etc etc. Address some of the light scratches and touch up the odd not so light scrape etc.

Will post up some, before, during and after pics after the weekend (y)

On the faults side, I'm going to put the battery on a trickle charge and see if it's ok, as hopefully it's only flat due to the altenator! and lack of use. Nrxt up fire it up and check the exhaust which I think is ok other than the tip which is pretty rusty, but might saw that off, paint it with hammorite then fit a chrome finisher :D.

Then next job will be to replace the fuel tank + altenator, take it for a quick road test and see what else needs doing, then get it M.O.T'd as soon as, so fingers crossed .

Ok my Schumey came today!...was towed to me, not a bad start as the chap drove it around the back of my house! so it goes! lol, bad news is that the Battery is tottaly dead but at least the exhaust is ok and not blowing.

Have not got any parts as yet, So I set about cleaning the outside of the car first!, was hoping to vax the seats etc but my friend forgot it! DOH.

Anyway here it is!

:yeahthat: and it means you got ABS like me which is rubbish and expensive to fix, that and a higher insurance group but hey, still a pretty little car, you done great. Now send them pictures to the person that sold it to you just to make them jealous haha.

Insurance is not a problem for me ;), well least it has ABS rubbish or not had a Rover 200 as a run around last year with no ABS and it was bloody lethal

UPDATE......have all my bits now bar an altenator belt!

Altenator

New petrol tank

New Bosch battery

Parcel shelf

New rear shocks

So next job fitting it all! GULP

Ok not going so well so far!, failed to fit the dampers as I cant get at the top nuts + the bottom ones are solid!.

Car runs fine, but the rev counter does not work? nor the power steering which i'm putting down to the alternator being broken so it's just running on the batt ATM

Hmmm, lot of work to do, fuel tank and alternator + belt and my DIY skill are erm lacking! :D

Anyway as I failed today I decided to wash my cars intead!, something I can do right! :bang:

truely epic jaunt from me, not sure what members are down that way but sure someone would be willing to lend you a hand with repairs, there is nothing that difficult on your list though and you do have another car so just have a go isn't it. I did fuel tank on a sei recently for the first time and it really was easy peasy!

Thanks for the thought buddy :), I'm sure i'll work it out (y), replacing the springs on the M3 too as I fitted Eibachs as I dont like them! bloody ruined the ride! so getting a little bit better with the old DIY......he say's
