Cinquecento 1.4 16v Trackday Car

This is a car that I bought just over 4 years ago with the plan to turn it into a track car. Well, it's taken all of that time since then to replace just about every bit of it and prepare it for its first track outing, which was yesterday, 31st Aug 12 at Castle Combe.

Spec is as follows:

Stilo 1368cc 16v Engine, producing 109bhp, 109lb.ft
Stilo 6-speed gearbox with Quaife ATB diff
Punto mk1 inlet manifold with Bravo 1.6 throttle body
Supersprint tubular exhaust manifold going to custom 2" de-cat system (2 silencers, 96dB static)
Emerald K6 engine management with custom loom
3.5Bar fuel pressure from Coupe 20VT fuel pump to T-Jet injectors

AVO GTZ coilover suspension, OMP Seicento MPI Strut brace
Modified top-mounts to give just over -2deg camber and extra castor

Sparco bolt-in roll cage
Sparco Sprint-V seats, Willans harnesses

Punto GT front brake calipers and discs (257mm vented)
Lancia Thema 16v wheels (14x6J)

I think that just about covers the spec, so here are the pictures of the car as it was at Castle Combe yesterday. I gave a few passenger rides and gave the keys to a couple of my friends from the Coupe Club (FCCUK) and everyone was very impressed. It's not a fast car by any means, but it's loads of fun and surprisingly chuckable. Should be well suited to its next outing, Curborough Sprint track on Sep 14th with the Coupe Club.

Enjoy,

James.

Looking tidy. Loving the cage. Wondered how long until you finished/got pics up. Where are all the engine pics though

Cheers Dan. I don't have a finished engine pic yet, but I'll try to get one tomorrow and post it up. It does look rather like all the other 16v converted Cinqs though

Nicely done James. Emerald is looking very original. Liking the extra bend on the induction. Where did you get that from out of interest?

Re: Cinquecento 1.4 16v Trackday Car

The induction kit actually started out with the cone filter in the same place as yours, but when the car went for mapping, the tuner suggested that it was too hot up there and so he made the modification to move it down. The cone is now actually right down between the towing eye and the front wheel, drawing cold air through a hole in the bumper. The piece of solid pipe is steel I think, sprayed black.

Nice car. Spec is pretty similar to the Emma/Aaron one. Race, race!

Tidy tidy spec!!

Have you ever changed your oil cap? Always thought the 1.4 came with a yellow cap?

Re: Cinquecento 1.4 16v Trackday Car

Yes, the spec is similar to Aaron&Emma's car, although theirs has a lot more done to the rear suspension, so it probably handles better than mine. There's still a fair amount of body roll with the AVO suspension, particularly at the rear. Their rear anti-roll bar is probably a very good addition.

The engine was fire damaged when I got it, so anything plastic attached to the engine has been replaced as it was all melted and burnt. The oil cap is the same as the original on my Coupe, so presumably it is from a Coupe, or similar.
