Punto (Mk2/2b) my 1.2 8v active sport Blue

Introduction

This is my thread of my fiat punto active sport in sprint blue. Its my first car and i always intended of getting a little punto!

I plan to do some subtle modifications to the car overtime as im on a tight budget but i plan to get:

-new back box exhaust, but dont know whats the best to get for the cheapest price!

-new wheels to fill the arches a bit better!

-tinted windows

and dont really have any other ideas, any suggestions?

heres a couple pics of the car as it is at the moment:
The Best Modifications are the following

- A clean and underseal - easily done with a trolley jack and stands and an afternoon

- A Decent serviced engine, a well serviced engine is again one of the best things todo

- Highly maintained brakes, ie strip em down - clean rebuild and readjust if needed

- Gearbox fluid change - not often done, but should be done regulary tbh
Easily done without many tools

paint the wing mirrors body coloured, fit some side skirts and it will look like a much higher spec car.

also get rid of those blue lights if you want to avoid problems with the police.

looks like you've otherwise got a nice little car

any recommendation for gearbox oil change which one to use? mine is 54 reg 1.2 8 valve

The manual says to use this

Tetela Car ZC 75 Synth on a Mk2 punto
(75W80 i think it is)

the mk2b has the same 5 speed box i believe....

If the car has NO History of it been changed, it takes 1 hr at MOST to change the fluid
And it can help with keeping the box running nice and smooth and quiet :)

Its done 68,000 miles and a full service was the first thing i done, its a really clean example with a strong engine. i just wanted to improve the look slightly. Im not one of these 17 year olds who just use and abuse their cars.

yeah i like the idea of the abarth side skirts but dont know where to source them. :)

Slight update.... the punto is booked in for its M.O.T on tuesday fingers crossed it will pass haha ;) also i have purchased an arbarth tax disc holder in annodised blue to complement the look of the car!! I will let you know how it does in the M.O.T.

P.S: Ive also got the punto booked in at protint uk for window tinting to be completed.

cheers. Billy

whats with your insurace there?
whats going on? i dont think its nessecery for the insurance to know the mods in your car :/
here in greece we dont have such problems....

Nice one, I was about to buy one blue 16v like this, but then found out it has been in quite a few crashes

Take the side stripes off, a bit lowering could be nice, and, although I'm not a fan of sideskirts, I think that Abarth sideskirts would look nice (y) And color the door handles and mirrors of course :D

eBay is a good place to start looking; as are the classifieds on the forum. Otherwise, try Mad Motors and its ilk. (A quick search on Google should net you a lot of choice, I would have thought...!) :)

Hope this helps...

Insurance has gone pretty anal - and if they can worm there way out of paying they will

So if you have say - Swapped the engine over to a bigger more powerful
They'll refuse to pay out
UNLESS you've told them about the change, at that point they'll bend you over and without lubrication

In the UK, play it safe and declare what you do

Even putting alloys on can be a problem :(

Im constantly on the look out on both of them dreaming about what i could buy haha. But at the moment almost all of my funds are going on the insurance each month as im still only a student! However once i have enough money, side skirts are a must.:)

If you had a track day car on ""normal"" insurance and had an accident

The insurance companies would honestly just laugh - tell you your not insured and here a click as they hang up the phone

Because of the rubbish weather today and didnt have alot to do. I spent most of the day on the inside of the punto which included a full interior valet and also the fitting of my new annodised blue abarth tax disc holder!

Heres the finished results!!
