Stilo My Stilo Multiwagon JTD the S-Wagon lol

Introduction

Well if you have seen my other marea weekends and my old punto you will know this is just the start.

So after weeks of looking and after i was going to buy another car but i had to spend money on my house this popped up, from fellow forum member, i drove to birmingham to view it and left a deposit and collected it 2 weeks later, i am over the moon with it, just need to give it a good clean sort a couple of small niggles and then start on the mods, here are some pictures

and what a joy to drive, returning 60mpg and its very smooth and quick when it needs to be, my insurance was cheaper and my tax is very cheap. so now the modifications i have planned.

first up it will be lowered next month, then i shall re-furb the wheels in a anthacite colour, de-badge it, twin 3" exhuast for now, and then i shall probably leave it until teh winter is over, but my plan is too run rotiform blq wheels or xxr 527 wheels and get it stanced right, i am going to have the engine covers flocked and some of teh interior too, going to add a boost gauge and oil pressure gauge to the a pillar, and a volt and amp gauge to my cupholders, probably change teh gear knob for a new one and fit my drilled and grooved discs that i already have. then just get it really clean and enjoy it but thats my plans the wheels may not happen as i do like the wheels that are on there already, either way it will be clean and low.

cheers

yep receipts is where its at, even if a car has full dealer fsh it means nothing to me, most dealerships don't service things properly anyway in my experience - I keep all my receipts for my cars, and i write the date and mileage i fitted the parts on each receipt. Way better than any stamp (y) I know people who have bought stamps from old garages off ebay and the like just to stamp up their cars books before they sell them so it really does mean nothing really.

Glad you are keeping it mate, its such a nice car and its really low mileage still, its easy good for another 100k+ more miles without having any major issues. I would say the only thing my old mw could have done with at 200k was possibly some new engine mounts as it had got a bit juddery on tickover but everything still ran sweet as you like.

+1 to receipts..... I've always done 99% of the maintenance and repairs on my vehicles, purists may walk away because "It wasn't done at the dealer", but for the realistic buyer, I always keep receipts (With date and mileage written on back) for every maintenance or repair I do (Down to oil changes, and filters and plugs). Especially after seeing the rise of counterfeit dealer stamps on a news report, short of contacting the dealer about every used car you look at, the stamps in a book don't prove much. Overall condition of the vehicle and receipts for work and MOTs show much more.

thats it buddy, i would rather buy a car with a folder of receipts than a stamped up service book, shows that someone has actully loved the car. bot my cars i service myself and i write in the service book the date and what i did and staple the receipt to it, my car does not have a service book, but does have the receipt of every service and every bit of work even down to a sheet with dates and what was done even about tyre changes....

well my car failed its mot yesterday and to be honest i just don't have the time or inclination to fix it, so its up for £600 as is or i may break, as i could probably get more from it so i can buy something else, would rather it went as a whole though, stereo and a pillar gauges are staying with me though

What caused the failure?

rear nearside brake binding, rear nearside pad 1.5mm, front offside lower ball joint/wishbone excessive play, both headlight aim is out so it dazzles drivers, and adjuster broken on nearside, advisories - rear handbrake only just met the level at 18% efficiency, drivers seatbelt has some damage but not effecting the integrity of the webbing.....

Now it doesn't sound that bad to be honest, but i literally have no time to fix it until january and need a runabout so i am hoping to sell on as is and then buy a cheapy for a few months to get me through winter then look for something else.

had alot of interest so far
