Saved from destruction...

Yep, the madman bought another Bravo. This is number 7 this one cost less than a cheap DVD player

It has it's defects, but it has 69k miles. It's very straight and very clean. much less defects than our normal runabouts

This is a possible replacement for the Seicento, as it needs a good bit of work to put it right for the test. Only one can hope it won't take too much to sort if it's rusty and rotten underneath, I'll strip it and use this thread on how to strip one to the bare shell!

But enough yap Not many pictures for now (as it was raining all day ) but here's a taster of one of it's party pieces

We had a bit of trouble jacking it up

You can see the problem...

Not the way it's sitting...

But because of these

It out-handles my van, it's like a go-kart in the corners Cleaned a bit and WD40'd They ain't staying on this car I can guarantee that

Conveniently, I have a silver bonnet and a lot of 647 to make that front end match the rest of the car!

I love having a parts bin for these cars

Cheers! Insane or just plain stupid at this stage I just don't know but there's just something about these cars...

No time wasted this evening when I got home

Time to move it

I couldn't believe it when I heard it, but the car became a tripod...

Clean off the ground

I only thought I was low...!

It's a damn sight more comfortable though! Hellaflush anyone?

So into the yard. We had trouble jacking it up. Not this time!

And wheels off

Aluminum plus cast steel = practically welded on!

Moving on, off with...

They ain't no ordinary shocks

And the springs

Those colars earlier took a lot of time to remove! I'll get pictures of them in daylight

If I have time tomorrow, out with the fronts

Re: Saved from destruction...

The more Bravos the merrier 3 in a row, pity the pic isn't better...

And so I found time (and the weather was nice ) to whip out the front coilys

Yeah... Rust seized some parts in place

But I got them out

Conveniently, I dug out a pair of shocks I made earlier and installed them

Every one of these cars is the same, rusty bolts...

And no copper grease

Just for the sake of 2 mins!!!

It's looking like this car will have to be broken up into parts... It was lying up too long and has gotten too rusty underneath. I only thought the blue van was bad when I got it
