Seicento Seicento Abarth - Van Aaken High Boost Turbo

Introduction

So i guess its about time to create my own thread on this car, only had it 4 years  Alot of people on here will know the car but we had alot of new cento members recently alot of which won't have seen her before.

Its originally from Jersey, it was ordered new from fiat by a doctor from Jersey who specified all options (bar the rarer wheels). So it has factory remote central locking, Air-con (apparently its rare to have AC & a sunroof but it has both) & ABS brakes. It was then delivered to Van Aaken new who fitted their high boost turbo kit to it.

It was then bought by a policeman i think and brought over to the main land. It was then bought by Donna on here and then Jamie86 on here (don't think either post on here anymore though) & then finally i bought it off Jamie.

It was at this point still not UK registered (despite having been here for at least 24 months!) So i got it registered which meant i had to lose the cool numberplate it had :(

Well to pictures then:

The day i bought it, getting a MOT - she passed with no advisories :)

On the way back to York with her, stopped in services. Note the cool numberplate.

Back home, next to Black Betty, the cinq JustAndy bought a few months back

Then we jump forward a few years to 2010, I haven't really driven it much, she only comes out to play in summer, these are just before she went for her MOT in 2010

Notice in that pic she still has oem exhaust!!

that cover thing was fitted by the first owner, the doctor, to hide all the medical stuff that was carried around the island in it, i like it so kept it.

She passed the MOT again no real issues, just had to clean up the handbrake actuator that year as it was sticking (well known common problem amongst us cento'ers).

So went for a razz about with a lad with a mini, a seicento looks massive next to a old mini! lol

And then here's some pics from last summer - she only did 50 miles or so last summer so not many pics

Amd now for some recent pics. Been getting her ready for the MOT this year over last month or so - the old stock exhaust finally fell to pieces so had to get a new one.
So she stuck her arse in the air so i could get underneath.

And the front (she was like this for a couple of weeks and the pikeys where i live would have had the wheels so they came off as well)
2012-05-05_16_04_04.jpg

And bought some shiny pipes - intend to get a full custom exhaust from downpipe back at some point with a larger bore than stock but funds didn't allow for that yet.

And that brings us upto date. I have many bits to go on the car but i will keep this thread updated now its here.

MOT in the morning. Wish her luck!!

Questions, comments etc welcome.
not had mine on the rollers but the vanaaken paperwork claims it takes it to 102bhp, only things on the car that make it faster other than the turbo kit is 40mm TB and exhaust so i'm guessing its around 110bhp atm.

The old cinq turbo was basically the same but more boost, i had a rr printout for that one, it made 125bhp and then the rr had a fault and run had to be aborted before complete so maybe 130bhp, it felt drastically different with the extra bit of power though. I timed the cinq to 60 on few occasions, just with stop watches so not entirely accurate but if you averaged out all the times i took it was just under 7 seconds, so was truely rapid little thing. My main aim tbh is to get the seicento to be as fast or a bit faster than the cinq was really.

What are you doing on the 13th August

Crikey that's expensive for a power run.

They all seem about the same though I would think you'd get a bigger discount going as a club.

Surely it's worth considering getting four or more of your mates to put some money together and sharing a G-tech Fanatic if you'r not getting any tuning done:

You could have hundreds of runs then when you're not bickering over who's turn it is. LOL

well Marella went to MITCAR today, 200 mile round trip which she managed on just one tank of fuel (just). She didn't miss a beat and didn't lose a drop of water (y)

nothing much to update, started fitting the gauges i bought (oil temp, water temp, wideband gauge) but only got as far as mounting them on dash and getting power to them, still need to get the wires fed through the bulkhead and to the sensors etc etc.

Will upload some new pics soon, can't find the memory card adaptor to get pics off the camera at mo but as soon as i do i will post up some more recent pics.

Has this sei got a Quaife fitted? If not then it should be the next mod

Well having rummaged in the shed a little to find my GT brakes, which i was convinced were GT3 ones i discover that they are the early type ones

So found and paid for some GT3 calipers which are coming with some discs and pads with light use. Thats my extra pennies gone for this month then.

Well thought i'd do a small update. As usual, i'm very rubbish at getting out doing stuff so nothing particularly exciting has happpened. But skimming back there is a severe lack of photo's going on so i'll try remedy that..

Car has been promoted to daily since i sold the van - all going well.

wideband lambda is all wired up and i have had several attempts at tweaking the fuelling a bit as she was running silly rich as i suspected. Not perfect but not bad, nice safe numbers on the gauge at all times now but still a bit rich. Is as good as i seem to be able to get it - any tweaks now to get nearer a perfect 14.7 on idle means i get leaning out during spool up. Needs a proper setup on rr by someone alot more experienced than me but she's running well as is.

I still not connected sensors for the 2 temp gauges - i have however decided on the new location for my water temp sensor - the sensor for the overheat warning light is just where the sender for cinq temp gauge is. Will just sticker the new sender there on the head - this means my warning light will not work but that don't matter with a bright red temp gauge right in front of me ;)

Got my hands on some of the rare option abarth wheels, in desperate need of refurb but found some for not silly money at last :) Will get done anthracite like my current wheels in due course.

Finally another Abarth on here with the rarer wheels...be prepared to be afraid of curbs and pot holes! And on a another note, I fitted a Stark Industries vinyl onto the boot of mine a few months back...great minds think alike ;)
