Only 30 on the road... might be a reason why. :p

There's a small pin on the back of the steering wheel that locates into a hole in the self cancelling ring on the switch assembly, or is it a pin on the ring and a hole on the steering wheel , it may be worth taking the steering wheel off to check this is located properly. The centre of the steering wheel is held on by two screws coming in from the back, by the way.
You could have your tracking checked, if it's out it will be reset with the steering wheel straight.

Gearbox fault is almost certainly 3rd gear syncro, it's the most common gear to wear.

The list of things to do, keeps getting longer... I haven't had time to do anything and I thought I wasn't working until 4pm tomorrow, now they want me in at 12. More money for the Panda I guess.

Ordered:
Oil, air, plugs, rocker gasket ordered.

Need to order:
Rear sunroof clip. (and I need to buy a cheap Ebay rivet gun.)
2 elastic roof straps Fiat?
Aerial
Cheap stereo
Headlight bulbs that work
Get key cut
lockable fuel cap

Need to fix:
Boot
Steering wheel
Indicators

Would be nice, but not major:
I don't smoke, but it has no ashtray. I need to put my crap somewhere.
Rear view mirror, is like looking through milk.

Yeah, I know exactly what you meen by a dry feeling.

Could be worth changing the gearbox oil as it may be expanding due to contamination when hot. Also maybe some lubircation on the selector part gearbox end, you can get to it form the top iirc. Alternatively all bushes can be replaced to give a nicer feel, but it won't help the thrid gear crunch.

When I finally get chance to service it next week, i'll grease everything.

.......

Girl at work: "I like your new car, it's quite retro."
Random coworker "What's it like?"
Girl at work: "Well, you won't see another one."

As a back handed compliment i'll take it. :D

Oooo...we like goodies.

Seeing what they are in the box is a little tricky though........even the can label is hidden....:D

Nothing too exciting, sump plug key, oil filter, air filter, plugs, rocker gasket, oil and the mystery can is brake cleaner. IMO the best thing to clean the engine with.

Eurocarparts have a 25% off code, they didn't have plug leads though.

..............

I notice more things everyday, the speedo reads 5MPH when the engines off... and the heaters unfathomable.
Also 20 MPH in second, the car jumps when you use the accelerator or when you come off the accelerator. Doesn't do it in 3rd.

Someone has a good day lined up tomorrow! Have fun! (y)

Did i have fun today? Well...

Stupid bloody Italians.

That took 5 hours 15 minutes, shoulda been 1 hour 15 minutes. Due mainly with the weather, also due to Turin... or wherever the thing was designed.
Here it was spitting, rain then nothing all in 20 minute cycles. So I'd run out, dump the oil, run in, run out, take the oil filter off etc. I used the entire can (500ml) of brake cleaner on the air box. It was covered in more oil and mayonaisse than an Americans arse.

Sometime later...

Wanted to figure out the battery light, checked the voltage with everything running, 14.5 volts. I discovered when I was greasing everything a mystery part sat loose on the gearbox, it's part-wired into the headlight... it is currently tie-wrapped to the washer bottle due to premature anger, because of a stupid design feature coming up. <_<

Ah I know, i'll fix the steering wheel and therefore the indicators. I take the wheel off, which takes longer than expected, because of two pointless screws holding the center on, I moved the wheel a couple of splines, I can see the indicator stalk is working beautifully... then the fun begins.

Battery plugged back in, indicate right, turn the wheel right, all is well. Indicate left, turn the wheel left UHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH hello my little annoying stupid horn.

I assume, that I tightened the amazing center cap screws on too tight causing the horn to make every neighbour think i'm a ****. I slackened the screws, one fell out, took 6 days to get it back in. By 'back-in', I mean 1/4 of a thread.

Does it still like to blow it's own horn when I turn? No ****ing idea, I locked it up and now i'm eating a bag of crisps.

Got the V5 today, 5 previous owners and the last guy had it just over a year.

If someone's been pulling about the brass contacts can be bent towards the wheel making the horn sound prematurely or get stuck on. Either that or the springs in the push button have compressed and need stretching out again.

The tie-wrapped item usually lives on the othe side of the car... Fixed to the top of the suspension Strut.

Thanks, I'll have a look some other day.
Because it's attached to the lights, and I think my battery light only comes on when my lights are on, maybe when it's slamming into the gearbox, makes it come on?

Forgot to mention I did the rocker gasket, I also waited until the cover was off to fill the car with oil. I have horrible memories of attempting to fill fire engines with oil. You need a syringe to fill the things up.

That component is the resistor for the dim dip on the headlights, as you say it may be shorting out on the gearbox. As Kev says it should be bolted to the o/s suspension strut so I'm a little puzzled how the wiring loom still connects to it when it's over there

If you haven't got two springs under the horn button that may be your problem.
