Punto (Mk2/2b) Joshhh Mk2b Punto "Project".

Introduction

Hello FiatForum!
Just thought start this project thread so you guys can see what im doing to my car and to gain some feedback on what i should/shouldn't do.
So to start off, i brought this baby about 3 months ago (Jan 2012). So after recovering from the crippling deposit for insurance, i can finally start to mod my car out (y)

When i brought it, there was some noticable damage to the rear bumper and the driver's side rear quater panel, where someone had hit it and it had been poorly repaired (Shoddy paintjob, so lots of rust. Fantastic.

)

So first off, i got it home and gave it a good clean out, where i found a boots loyality card and a drumstick lolly.

So once i had it all cleaned up, there was a niggling problem, THOSE TRIMS.

Yeah i know they are standard, or "stock" but Look at them! I truely hated them with a passion.

So, got myself over to halfords and brought some High Enamal Matte Black Paint for pretty cheap and then brought some Trims from eBay for £30

So, SOOOO much better. Then, shortly after i brought some things online.

Added some stickers here and there:

So i sat there, looking at my car, admiring my work so far, and then i noticed those "Active" badges under the side repeaters. They had to go.

So got some fishing wire and some WD40 (And a hairdryer) and removed those.

BOOM.

Then i got a bit too happy with how easy that was and removed "Punto" from the back. (Yes i know, i deserve a smack from every FF user

)

So, thats my car's story so far, the plans ive got are:

- Flyeye tint the Rear lights
- Change headlight colours
- Sportex Exhaust System (Current one sounds like a rusty fart)

So please, feel free on commenting about my car, or what you think i should do

I kinda like the wheels you could have masked off the tyre valves though!?

Not a big fan of the sticker bomb door handles but to each their own. Would definitely benefit from the sporting bumpers but if you're going to start doing that you'd be better off buying an active sport for £1500

Cheers for the comments lads :) Took a bit of work but im pretty happy with them :) (I replied in one post to save spamming)

Looks nice with the white steelies.
Cheers buddy! (y) I love em'

oooh i like this, welll done lad

but the white steelies? nope, the trims were wayy nicer :)
Cheers budd! I wasn't too keen on the trims but thank you anyways! (y)

I really like the white steelies! looks good! :)
Cheers Polly, took a bit of work i tell ya! (y)

I seem to come on here solely to criticize and advice >.< sorry mate!

Not a big fan of the steelies mate, tho your quality of work is top notch (y) Get saving and get properawesomewheels! You also need to get these steelies banded when you get your properawesomewheels and coilovers, coz banded steels > normal steels :slayer:
Aha, no worries mate! (y) and thank you! First time a sprayed (y) I WILL get some alloys...eventually (y) also, "banded"? What that? :(

Try & get a 3dr active sport bumper, looks much nicer than the standard bumper with the 2 grilles each side
I am buddy! Its that EXACT bumper i want, front and back :p Not too fussed about colour, i can spray that up (Or get it professionaly done) I must of rang about 5-10 different Punto "Breakings" and Breaker's Yards. Hmm, after the easter holiday, im gonna make it my mission to find one!(y)

I thought about doing that but it just looked daft, im just gonna buy some nice new caps and it will look awesome, trust me (y)
My next step is sorting that bumper out, but at the moment, im skint (n)
And ontop of that, my insurance would NOT like me having anything with the word "sport" in (n) and the cost of my car and the 2 Sport bumpers, would be waaaay less than the cost of Sport Model of mine. I'll just have to put sport bumpers on, no-one will ever know, execpt, well, you guys!

banded steelies are basically u give them ur steel wheels and they put on a steel ring around the steels to make the deeper and wider
i dont like them but alot of people do

Cheers for this buddy! Got to admit, these look Euro to me, i aint 100% sure on them, i'd rather have some lovely Abarth Alloys :p

Exactly as above :) yeah, they aren't everyones cup of tea, some think they look a bit cheap, but personally for a winter spec wheel I think you can't get much better (y)

I think they look pretty awesome, would rather spend the money on alloys though bud! (y) Just checked out your thread too, slammed that motherf*cker like a bitch didn't you! (y)

yea a nice set of 5 spoke alloys painted in gun metal grey or white would look the bizz on a black car (y)

Oooo, now you got me thinking, nice one!(y)

Hmmm, next step has to be the Rust and the Bumpers, sadly, my wages go up soon so then. I'll be able to do everything i want. But for now, i must wait. (n)

i see your looking for an induction kit too (y)

just buy a 90 degree silicone elbow, few jubilee clips and any cone filter (y)
the one i have is home made and works perfectly with a savage grunt from it :slayer:

I'd love a decent Induction kit, people say that a Focus kit is best, but that will have to wait for months. (n) Still, that looks pretty awesome though buddy! (y) But daft question, what does the kit effect? Preformance? or does it just sound like a beast?
Just wait now for payday, contacted a bloke that works in the same company as me, he has the 'know how' about finding parts, fingers crossed for Mk2B Sport Bumpers :p

A GSR is the best induction kit for these engines places the fillter in a direct air feed.

It is suposes to increse performance but with engines been small not easy to notice. and a side effect is a bit nicer sound.

Got the focus induction kit on mine and its angled over the engine all the way towards the front. It does make a noticeable difference though definately more rev happy and grunty too lol !
