Well this is my punto 75, and was bought about 5 years ago. It has a lot of work done to it from the time it was bought to this day .. and now it will soon have a new heart, a 1998 GT3 Italian masterpiece.

Everything on the car is nearly GT, from rear discs to GT uprated front discs, GT steering wheel, GT dial instruments and about 6 months ago I bought a GT3 engine from UK which came with box, shafts, gear linkages, oil cooler, inter-cooler, turbo, engine/ignition loom following ECU, barrel, 2 blue keys + 1 red key & immobilizer!

Basically the whole lot. Am now in the process of rebuilding the engine and hopefully fitting it this coming summa!

hi , your punto is very cool, i like its color so much, are you allowed to drive it on pubblic streets? you are lucky in Italy it is not possible to modify almost nothing about car , certanly not engines and mechanics parts.

Surely it's not completely impossible? There's a guy in Udine who runs a supercharged Mk1..........

Or register the car in Bulgaria or Romania? ;)

I am not so expert about laws but here you can't put a different engine , you are allowed to upgrade power till to 30 hp more through a powerfull electronic control unit or through a sport exaust, sport air filter for example.
But you can find some illegal cars around;)

The register abroad trick seems to work -- Russia Today did a small feature on it showing frustrated Carabinieri unable to prosecute providing the insurance was valid. It's a service provided by Romanian and Bulgarian Rom to help out owners of big BMWs and Mercedes. It's said that the Romanian authorities are cracking down, but they would say that, wouldn't they?

Next time you see an Italian driving a big car with Romanian or Bulgarian plates, ask for details!
