Punto (Mk2/2b) my punto project

Introduction

what you think?, any ideas on stuff to do on it ??? think guna get sum black bumpers insted of plastic ones.
if you like them, you can keep them, but most other people don't so don't think you will score any visual points for the looks.
yes the rubstrips from the side can go.
alloys are ok (would look a bit better in white in my opinion) but original sporting alloys would look even better
bumpers, skirts and a sporting spoiler, yes but I am a bit confused as to why they need to be black?
you have already the black plastic bumpers on:confused:

first thing i think you should do is take a look around members motors at some of the other members cars and get some ideas.

if it was me i would,get/paint some bumpers same colour as car, colour code the handles door protectors and mirrors and lower 50mm.then see what else takes your fancy

dw we all go through this stage >.>

1st most important thing, if you like it then do it!

look up some punto MK2 (B) rear lights as they do not have the amber in them.

the alloys have pertenshal, maby in a different colour as said above.
or sporting alloys.

i dont think a black bumper and rear will look very good with that colour blue, look up some abarth body kits and see if theres any in your colour, or if you can aford, get them resprayed to match your car. also abarth or sporting sideskirts are always positive.

and if your insurance allows it, slamm it on its arse 60mm or so, i think everyone should be lowerd at atleast 1 point in there life!

but its a good base model to work with, gl with the build

Check the classifieds, make sure you declare the GSR to your insurance too, otherwise your practically un-insured. You wont find a GSR any where else apart from on here I dont think, very hard to get hold of. (I know, I just sold one that took me 3 months to get my hands on!)
Ebay for bumpers and skirts, look for breaking HGTs and Abarths

Cheers
Tom

I have the same colour punto :) just find other members with that colour to find what looks good on them. White alloys do look great on this colour, but I would of thought they get dirty very quickly... Definitely get colour coded bumpers.
I don't think you have to tell insurance about bodykits, unless they are really picky. You could always say you thought they were standard and they came with it when you bought it :p. But if you wanna be safe then yeah best to tell them...

( I may or may not have a focus induction kit that I haven't told my insurance about ;) )

cheers matey, would i have to notify insureance about body kits ?
Yes. No question about it.

You have to tell insurance EVERYTHING including induction kits because you are pretty much driving around with no insurance. Sorry to be a grumpy bugger about it but if you crashed into someone and killed them, i dont think you would have the hundreds of thousands of pounds so sort it out all for about 60 quid a year

Yeah you're right, its on my to do list but insurance is up for renewal very soon anyway. Am I right thinking if you had your old air filter you could just stick that back on and the insurance company wouldn't know?

Well just make sure that its declared, please.
And it depends on the crash that you have, if the whole front end is knocked up and theres a perfect airbox sat on top then they will notice, if you even have time to change it over

These days the police like to stop modified cars and can instantly check the insurance database to see what mods are declared, if so inclined can report you there and then for driving without insurance.

Any accident where the car has to be recovered you might not have an opportunity to start swapping bits in and out before the car is inspected

Personally, i would notify them about everything, little things like the blue interior light are ok, but sound systems, bumpers, debadged grills, lights, ect.
Yeah I might cost you a bit of money extra on your insurance, but it would save you £££££s if your insurance was to become invalid and you were to be involved in an accident.
Plus, (assuming your only young), if you were to become "uninsured" due to a fraudulent policy, then the price of everyone else's insurance would go up.
Sorry for the guilt trip but I can imagine that you wanna save money as much as the next guy!

Cheers
