Grande Punto My (future) Black Grande Punto!

I'm 17 and have a test booked for just over a months time, hoping for the best!

I've got a 1.4 3dr Grande Punto. It's completely standard as yet but there's a few things i want to do.

Top priority is some alloys as only have hubs atm which dont look too mean, i wanna tint the windows, maybe chrome or white wingmirros, am gona keep it fairly subtle i think.

Also wondering if i could get ipod connectivity and if so, how? I don't have blue and me.

If anyone could help me out to where i could get alloys apart from fiat direct, would be much appreciated! think i want genuine fiat ones but would consider second hand,

Any reply appreciated to any of that ^^ :)

Have you considered how much this will set you back in insurance? First year insurance is always expensive up to about 25 years, then add on top all these modifications (which many insurers will just refuse to accept on the policy), it's going to set you back an absolute fortune.

Which, to be honest, I question how you can afford given that you're a student that's been in university for the last 4 years, with a very large debt?

Or am I wrong?

Decided whilst night shifting last night that I'm going to get a White 1.4 Active Sport instead of black. They're a little bit harder to come by it seems (in comparison to their black counterparts) but I think it'll be worth it in the end, as any mods I make will be that more sweet!

Anywho, the complete list now:

- 1.4 White Active Sport.

- FX1 Red Alloys: eww (n)

- Red vinyl wing mirrors, black vinyl roof and black vinyl between the two grill bits.

- Tinted windows, probably 60% ish...although i'll decide the specifics closer to the time. Tinted back pink part of the rear light too.

- Might get a nicer roof spoiler painted in red: http://www.nicedeals.co.uk/product_info.php?products_id=8203 eww :yuck:

- "PUNTO" stickers down each side in black (with the EVO not applied): http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/FIAT-GRANDE-PUNTO-EVO-SIDE-STRIPES-GRAPHICS-STICKERS-x2-/120773816356?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item1c1eae3024 eww :yuck:

- Debadge the front, replace the grill - probably in a dark black to contrast nicely with the white paint. Debadge the back, and replace it with a custom 'red/black punto' badge.

- Angel eyes, probably something like what Bolder pointed out. Done a lil online gandering and they look pretty awesome on lightly coloured GP's. eww :yuck:

- Front splitter, in black.

- Eibach springs, 30mm lowered.

- Sweet ass sound system.

I'm not the most car savvy gent around, but I'm so excited to get on with it all now. I hope I can eventually contribute to this forum more than just posting soon :) looking forward to meeting up with like-minded folk and donating when I can!

just my opinion ;):)

Insurance is a massive problem and so i'm finding things atm that won't affect it too much like tinting back windows, got a good quote for that. And then think the LED rear lights look really smart but again, will haveta check insurance. think i'm gona haveta leave alloys for now as so expensive and more likely to affect insurance. Getting an itrip to save money for ipod connectivity.
Does anyone know what does and doens't affect insurance?

Woah chill out Mr Skeptical!

I only voiced my dream modifications, no need to put a downer on things!

As a matter of fact I've worked my arse off doing nightshifts during university, meaning that I haven't really dipped into my loan/grant/bursary all that much.

Not only that but I've had job offers both at university and at home once I finish 3rd year.

I never intended on, nor said I would do ALL the modifications at once, especially the expensive and extravagant ones.

But what do I know, eh? You think I best stick to a tricycle?...
