Seicento FIAT Seicento Turbo!

Introduction

Hey people, I will write up about this car as soon as i find the spare time to! For now please enjoy the couple of pictures that i have (not the best quality). This car is also in the classifieds! (y) Not built by me by the way!
Nice ride!
Looks pretty sweet for something so yellow ;)

Messy engine bay though haha. With me being so OCD I would tidy it up with cable ties and tubing haha

Cheers
Tom

Lol me too personally but it's my best mates. Just wanted to see what sort of attention it gets and to find out what people know about it's history etc! Thanks for the positive comment though! (y)

The Sei just one of those cars thats made out of Cardboard.
But I would still love to get my hands on one for a winter project.

Dont turn this thread into a "BAN HIM PLEASE". If youve got your own personal vendetta against someone... talk to a moderator or your mummy.
Cheers
Tom

Quite - but on that subject, try looking at what happens to every other pre-90s design in a frontal crash test. I think you'll find they all do that (more or less).

The only reason the Seicento is picked out is because it is pretty much the last of the pre-euroncap cars that actually got subjected to the tests. Saxo suffers much the same fate.

On one had anyone old enough grew up with cars that folded like that in an impact and thought nothing of it, on the flip side, given that cars are so much safer now why would you drive a Seicento?

1) They are fun, 2) They are fun and possibly 3) They are fun
oh and
4) They are cheap

Getting back to the car in question, is this one of those that had the front cross-member cut to make space? If so then that crash test is even more relevant as the front of the car is even weaker still....

Yes it is one of those with the cross member of the front cut! Not too my taste either, all work has been done by a previous owner! Yes it will make it weaker but I doubt it really matters. If you crash one you're going to end up hurt! Not getting a very positive look this car, lol. It does go though!

Agree with that, cross member on a seicento?

Congrats on the purchase, cov69/sei16v is a friend of mine who had it once a while ago.

We gave it a good scout over and found the following at the time needed doing.

Boost pipework was a bit off and needed to be re arranged a bit (looks like it's been done but layout kept the same), oil pressure pipes inside were a bit leaky or misreading, engine needed to be removed and rewired in properly (wires soldered onto fuses, then covered over with the fuse box cover), the mounts needed some tweaking/firming up, also the exhast was a homemade DIY job, wasn't great but again might be worth checking over.

I'm not sure what has been done since it left his hands but they might be a priority to check out if you haven't already.

It's nice to see my indicators are still being put to good use (y).

Thanks

EDIT: Also it's funny to see that the mileage still hasn't changed, and speedo still not working :D.

Best comment & help so far! Thanks for that! Going to pass that message on to a very mechanically minded Freind and get that all looked at. Will give him something to do ;) lol, mileage on the other hand is pretty stable, odd that I know lol!
Thanks for giving more history on the car! Would like to speak to the original owner (wardy) to be honest.

trust me... the slam panel will do sweet FA in a crash... its only there to add strength to the front cones (stop them flexing in and out during cornering)

Think I said it before... bet this car is only good for drag strips with that stone age engine. (at least we know it will have plenty of weight over the front wheels!)

On the track I imagine it been like a dog on lino :p

Handling was fine for street use. On the thrash it was more than quick enough for these shells, but cornering has been lost if your definately not brave.

This car made a modified focus st look like a toy on the drag front of things.

Oh and It's extremely bad in terms of mph, £10 lasted all of 20miles once.

Thanks

X
