Punto (Mk2/2b) thund3rdom3's Snowman mk2b =).

Introduction

thund3rdom3's mk2b low&slow

just one day after I said goodbye to my mk1, this one came to my yard; it's a 2004 mk2b powered by 1.2 8v engine packing the allmighty 60HP :D

It's still in stock, only the trunk is without lights and badges (except the "Punto" one, that will be removed soon). I only put in some music, since it came with no radio :bang: .. the HU is Pioneer DEH3300UB, enough for my needs, the front system is Hertz DSK165 and the rear is Hertz DCX 690, I finally hear the music, and with pretty good quality, considering the hardware used (entry level, no amp or woofer). The only problem is, and I learned now for the future, never rush into anything ; the speakers had to be installed THAT VERY MOMENT, and all went fine, except the positions of the tweeters ( see pics below) :bang::worship::bang::D

As for the future plans :

- coilovers are already ordered, they should come in one month time, maybe less.. that's when he goes closer to the floor :D
- Renault Laguna lip, which was intended to go on my mk1, will now be going here
- since I got new winter tires with the car, steelies will be sprayed black, and I'll start saving money to get some nice alloys & rubber till the summer
- blacked out headlights, debadged front grill, maybe some black mudflaps (just for the winter :D ), stickers..

these are just basic plans, there will be more done during the process, but for now, this is enough info, now it's time for some pics :)

...and after one year, we come to this look... :D

for the list of changes, and the progress inbetween, read the rest of the thread :D

no problem man (y)

coilovers are TA Technix, a guy got them for me from Germany, I suppose you'll get them easier, since you're from Britain, and i'm from Croatia, a country still considered third world by most companies :(

and word of advice, sprayed steels are just for winter setups, get some nice alloys for summer  :D

Cheers buddy, i'll have to look into it! (y) I mean, Punto's Slammed = :p
And well, this morning it was snowing  So it was a good thing i sprayed em'! (y)
Any future plans for this Mk2B?

heh.. future plans.. :D

in the nearer future:

- mounting the Zenders on the car, with 165/50 rubber, and lowering the rear end as needed
- matte black roof and spaces between the front and rear side windows (foil wrap)
- tinting the headlights and taillights a bit (also foil wrap)
- cleaning the remains from the side strip on left door (some smartass painted the doors without taking them off) :bang:

in some more time:

- cleaning the front and rear bumper (strips, and reflectors on the rear one)
- tinting the rear windows
- sporting spoiler (if I find one)
- painting door handles white
...

that's just what i can remember for now, and that's only from the outside :D

by the way, yesterday was an interesting day :) my punto is now with me for 6 months straight and yesterday he passed his first 100k kilometers

two days ago, I tried to take off those decorative "screws" from the wheels.. and when I say "screws" it's because they are just kicked in, not bolt on :bang: you can probably guess that this lead to an interesting two hours of trying to take them off.. it also explained some not perfect holes on the first wheel, that was already without them.. those "screws" tend to break.. easily..:mad::mad:
the first wheel supposedly had 14 of 30 broken, and then redrilled holes.. so it seems i was more succesful, first one 10, second one 8, last 4.. so this will lead to an interesting afternoon of slow, try-to-be-precise drilling sometime soon.. and also, repolishing those three wheels completely on that part

but, it's not all that bad.. because, yesterday my adapters arrived, so it was time for some test fitting :slayer:

since the adapters are 24mm thick, and the wheel offset is normally 25, this will lead to an offset of 1.. and that shall look like this in about two months time, when the rubber arrives

front :

back

and according to this page, the car will fall about 2 cm just with that change

and then.. it's pothole avoiding time :D

Pure beauty right there! (y)
Tinted headlights? Care to tell me where the hell you got those?! ;)
But seriously dude, car is looking smashing, well done! (y)

not tinted, foiled.. my friends are working with all kinds of foil (car wrapping, stickers etc..) and they got light black foil made specifically for headlights (not windows).. AFAIK it's illegal here, don't know how it's treated in Britain.. and they got that foil from a friend, who got it from a friend, who got it from a friend etc.. :D

tnx for the comment (y)

Oh right , sound bud! i've been looking at Tinted Headlights, so cheers bud (y)
Gotta say, Coilovers HAVE to be my next purchase, after i get the freakin' Head Gasket sorted (n)
Keep up the good work bud

love this car, i prefer the mk2a boot on the mk2b's perfect combo ;)

For some reason i prefered your steelies with this car :(

but the stance now on this is epic,

keep it up bro

steelies are for winter, and will be in a different colour, again :D which did you like more, pink or green ones? :D

the stance should be corrected when i get a chance to be without my car for few days, the rear needs to be completely re-done, and then it will be ready for the next spring/summer :slayer: :D

been to SPL Island competition in Omišalj, Croatia, they also had style competition, where i picked up "best euro style" prize :D

so here are some pics, the roof is wrapped in matte black, my friend and me have done it friday afternoon, and it turned out quite good :D also, few bandage stickers have been added to cover up some minor scratches, the cursing hand in front of the gas tank, and fake UK style license plates (for show only of course)

Long time no see :D

The season has passed, and in two months I managed to get four prizes, two 2nd places in mini style category and two best euro look

So I did an photosession before I put Zenders to winter sleep, few pics here

And then, as they were sleeping peacefully, I got an offer I couldn't refuse, and sold them to get these

These are Zender Stars, in the same dimensions as the Sports were... the caps need to be completed (decorative nuts missing) and the whole wheels refurbed, so they most likely won't stay gold :)

Love it! is your friends green 5 door on the forum also?

Nope, I could put up some pics of his, but my gallery is almost full... Is there any way to get more space in the gallery, or atleast clean the old pics no longer wanted?
