I loved it when I came out the hotel at Leeming Bar and was greeted by that I had to picture it lol. Was going to an IAM Observer training day so had to clear all the windows and lights lol.

for insurance use gocompare.com... for me admiral and elephant are the winners every time with any vehicle. iv tried ferrari's porsches etc etc and all come at reasonable prices. dont think any were over 4k.

im 20 days away from being 22 and have an SP30 (3points) 4 years driving and 3 years no claims and my GPS M-Jet is only 575 a year. thats fully comp, on an admiral multicar policy with both parents and 24 year old sister able to drive my car too. it all helps. nice car by the way, but not too keen on the wheels :)

also a quick tip for gocompare.

make 2 accounts. one with your actual birthday. and one made a year before you were born, that way you can get an idea of what your next years premium will be ;) just make sure you add in an extra NCB and years driving when you do the quote

Sorted my insurance out last night,
Confused.com seemed to give me the best quotes, then I rang up elephant (who gave me the best price) and sorted out a multicar policy that knocked another £350 off aswell! Just under £2k for a 1.2 8v GP with 1 years driving and no NCB, minor mods declared . And best of all.... No damn curfew tracker :D

Yeah, Ive heard post codes affect insurance ALOT.
Just stick it out and im sure your insurance will drop loads by the time your renewal comes round :)
I did do a quote yesterday with "Road angels" or "Car Saints" or something along the lines of that. They gave me a reasonably competetive quote, and included a "telematics" box that measures the Linear, lateral and longitudinal G-Forces that your car is under when moving. If you keep the numbers as low as possible, driving like an old woman ect, they knock up to £300 every 3 months!! Worth thinking about?
Found them on www.comparethebox.com :)

Cheers

I got a quote with them yesterday and they bloke on the phone didnt sound too impressed when I told him how many miles I was doing a year. I think I would use the 6k milage limit in less than half a year!

Do you have problems with that?

Cheers
Tom

When I passed my test 2 years ago (was 17) I was paying 2K for a banged up T reg corsa B my gran gave me :O

After two years I got a brand spanking new punto evo, was paying £130 per month but that was for 6 months as i changed my car halfway through my year with some irish company, cant remember the name.

Week later I had a Ford Puma sharing the back seats with me car was a write off and my insurance increased even though accident was not my fault,

I then purchased my orange grande and my motorbike (Kawasaki bandit 650)

I find it hilarious how bike insurance is half if not more car insurance despite having 3X the amount of power.
(I could hit 60 in around 2 seconds :O)
I was hit badly with the 40% increase, My insurance jumped upto £2000 P.A despite being 19 (Almost 20) with 2 years no claims and have passed my test for two years so have cleared the "Probation period" so to speak :)

Just thought i would share :p lol

Yep, but still works out cheaper than a 'normal' policy.

Well, to be fair I have a claim and on NCD, so My insurance wasnt amazing anyway. Got a couple of quotes from "1st cover" at stupid low prices! But after googling the reviews, found that they have a thing for "losing" cars that get sent for repair, and customers not getting them back for a month or two :s
