Hi im Col and this is my third cento!

its a 2000 still 1.1 with about 60k miles on and running well.

so far ive had to do:
slim 10" fan
fiesta thermostat mod
k+n (was free)
lowered 30mm
sx under headlight grill things!







going to use it over winter and see how things go

heres the DIY intake i just done

was at the scrappy looking for a new downpipe, which i got. also came across a few things by chance so i decided to make up some sort of intake...

what i got -

clio 1.2 centre section
205 GTI K+N filter
sei 900cc 'bob'
sei 900cc intake piping
clio 1.2 cold air feed

i used the centre pipe to decat and de-centre box my exhaust

the rest went here (i will clean the filter, its just mocked up to check fitment)

what a tidy machine =) I reckon you should get rid of the blue accents, well the side ones anyway ;-) changes the look of car completely especially lowered ;-)

Your induction looks like a good effort, did you try the pipe the other way round? Hard to tell from pictures but looks to me like it would sit further forward if you turned the pipe round which would also bring the breather pipe closer.. but i may just be talking rubbish, can't really tell without it in your hand on something like that.

i did try it every way round but thats the only way it would sit right

i painted them grey today

the thermostat is a 1242 casing with 950 or 1.1 fiesta internals, sure i read about it on here, opens earlier.

yeah i think they know what you mean, why have you done it is what fingers is getting at i think.. your car doesn't need it at all so why did you do it??

Ah yes. I have the prototype! -- Craig has expressed doubts as to whether they work as intended, but I have a "real" low temperature one to bolt on if I ever need it. And as Blue73 says, you don't need it.

no i didnt need it but i changed the thermostat as a precaution when i swapped out the seized fan.

ive had these cars years ago and both had overheating trouble haha

hi, are those TH's 14"? Just interested to gauge what my car will look like as i intend to put 14" on and it will be lowered 30mm like yours as well. thanks

OP says they're TH. 14" will be fine on 30 drop, but the important thing is the J fitting. If you get 6J you can run 195/45/14s (or even 195/40/14s): get 5.5J and you're limited to 185/50/14s, which gives you a much smaller tyre choice and more expensive tyres.

thanks they will be the 6J size, just not sure on whether to go 14" or 13" that was all. Prob go 14" now I know they will be ok, those TH's look ace by the way! thanks

just a note, my TH are 13x5.5 and im lowered a good bit more than 30mm now
