tbf the glare actually isnt that bad, the pic does create that impression - yeah the bulbs are bright but have not been flashed by other road users yet and have been down several country windy roads - my bulbs point right into the ground. Im not a tw@ who isnt considerate of other road users at all lol.

right so just picked up 40mm lowering springs for the grand some of £20 lol so if anyone knows any decent places round berkshire that will fit them lol let me know

does it have to be like a car modification type bodyshop or will like your everyday mechanic garage do it? cheers

most mot prep work places will fit them but if you can get your hands on a few hours, a vice and a select few sockets and spanners then its an easy job, o and a pair of spring compressors maybe a spare pair of hands too done mine with nothing but a small halfrauds tool set and a borrowed pair of spring clamps

like i said, any reputable garage can do it.. They would be expected to change normal springs so they can do lowered springs, same process Whatever garage you usually use

I dont normally use a garage, i never have had the cause for one lol all my recent cars have been sound n i didnt really modify em.

It is not a hard job to do yourself, they are right. But you will need to buy/borrow/rent some spring compressors.

unless you have a oen ended spanner and a high wall to point and shoot not that i would reccomend it as its a bugger to get the new springs on, the second time i done mine i used compressors and was lots easier (and safer)

having seen as a child my dad's thumb crushed by a road spring from a opel manta. i really wouldn't try an do it without proper compressors

i fully understand that it may not be a hard job lol but to completely honest im just not too confident at doing things like that with the thoughts of springs flying out etc - i was quoted by a bodyshop £100 - is that ridiculous or??

There isn't anything to cock up. Remember the order parts came off, and do the reverse putting back on. Simples .

its more the whole being under the car etc - its just not me lol anything i have a good crack at, but jus not too confident with it im afraid lol but appreciate the support tho

As the others have said, if you don't have access to spring compressors, take it to a reputable garage.

£100 seems like alot to me.. I'd expect it to be nearer £50-60

yeah i thought so, but his work is immaculate - he has been in several magazines etc - thats why i went to him lol but i thnk im gonna take to an everyday garage lol - ccheers, but i must admit im being swayed to diy lol but i will get spring compressors lol
