Punto (Mk2/2b) My Little Blue 2B

Introduction

I have made a new thread because it feels like a fresh start.

I have done as much as I can get away with as I have not even been driving a year yet.

Hopfully in time my Insurance will allow me to get lowerd and fit an GSR induction kit.

I hope you like it.

any comment good or bad is worth posting, it will help me in the future if not with this car than another, thanks in advance for any posts :)
Hey mate, how about white wingmirrors?;) Really like your wheels. I like the little blue stripes on your grille as well, breaks up the black nicely, and that sideskirt looks awesome. Anyway you can get darker headlights? I dunno much about what's available for mk2b's. Don't think it'll look chavvy, depends on the light I guess.

Thanks for the comments lads, yeah im really proud alot of hard work has gone in to afford the money it took to get it to how i wanted it.

You cant really buy 'new' headlights that are black on the inside for the 2b , however you can cut into them and spray them.

I might consider it later on, rite now im really happy with how it is .

cant wait too get it lowerd a little , maby 50mm all round, :yum:

and rawb wish me luck with the headlight sanding this weekend! although they dont look bad on the photos :)

Headlights look quite crisp in most of the photos, but I know how decieving they can be, probably best off just using 2500 grit then polishing out by the looks of things! (y)

I think the silver suits the car, makes it look modern, black insides to the headlights would look pretty awesome though.

You doing the rears and front lights? :D

yeah ill do the rears and fogs, no point doing half a job! ill take a leaf out of your book and do it all as close as perfection as i can lol

Headlights - at the moment i think they complement the alloys, when we reach winter Im going too powdercoat them gun metal grey, so ill do the headlights when i do the alloys :)

Sounds idea that does! - fog lights need doing? thought they were glass?

Going to be harder with hand and no machine polisher but you should get similar results to what i've been getting. (y)

Looking great so far i definatly advise lowering and fitting a GSR, suprisingly i found it was not that expensive to insure them.

You have done a great job colour coding did you do it your self ir did you get them done at a garage?

I tend to hate the MK2B front, but for some reason, the paint just goes so well with the debadged grill, I think that really sets off the general look of the car.

You going to get springs or coil-overs for it then?

yeah at some point, iv only been driving a year, im not to botherd about been really low, the only cars i see driving around my area that are lowerd are young asain lads in 3.0 15 grand cars that are on there uncles insurance.

I dont really want to stand out much as my car has no performace what so ever , a push bike could over take me.

i get enough trouble at the moment with people driving 1cm away from me wanting to race.

im really happy with how it looks and ill post some more pictures when i put my stilo splitter on this weekend :)

thanks for all the replys

having looked at the stilo splitter on my car, i wasnt happy with it, so iv decided to maby get an lcr one or just not have one :/

if anyone has any ideas for what i could do next let me know. Iv been to busy at work to think up things!

thanks alot

Have you thought about getting some grille mesh stuff for the empty slots on the rear bumper? My older brother had a 2b active sport and I always thought that bit looked odd. Makes the car look a little hollow. His was that strange sort of baby blue, your blue is a lot better and more suited to the car. He got rid of it complaining about poor reliability, but he never had it serviced in 3 years!! He then bought the most foul smelling second hand volvo S80 ever. Needless to say he regretted letting the punto go. Other than that, I really don't think there's anything that needs doing to your car, looks very good as it is.

thanks alot for the reply,

I agree with you i did have mesh in there as seen below

i did like it at the time it went well with my alloys, but im trying to make it not look too chavvy, and i dont want people who dont know about fiats to think its an aftermarket rear bumper if you know what i mean.

im thinking of having the alloys powerdcoated in a very light silver for my birthday on the 27th :)

Black mesh should be subtle and hardly noticeable, just something to fill the gap. I get your point about chavviness, it's a fine line between nicely modded and chavmobile. I drove past a flurescent yellow saxo yesterday, dropped to the point you couldn't see the tops of the horrendous alloys, and it had green go faster stripes, minging angel eyes, and the rear lights were black. Yours is absolutely not in the slightest chavvy (y) Plus, chavs tend to leave fiats alone cos they have no taste.

Ive thought about something similar on mine but like what has been said there is a fine line between looking good and been chavy, Ive also wondered whether there was anything that i could change about the "grills" on the low front bumper but just left them for now.

yeah, funnyly enough i tryed black mesh aswell, but i didnt like the look of it, i know what you mean about it needing somthing there so you cant see under the car, and see the ugly stock exhaust ;p but i think ill just leave it how it is for now.

Im thinking of getting the alloys powercoated for my birthday presant ;p but im not sure what colour, if anyone has any ideas let me know , maby just a light silver?

im no good at photoshop so i wont even try (y)
