Grande Punto Enos' Orange GP Sporting

Introduction

Now then everyone :)

Been on the forum a while now and apart from asking a few standard questions ive not really contributed much so i guess ill start my own build thread :)

The car is a 2006 Carribbean Orange 1.4 16v Sporting

List of mods ive bought for her- (Will update as i go along)

So here's how i bought the car on the day i got her (Old owners plates)

Then i bought another set of alloys for the car after skidding on black ice and buckling one alloy on the kerb :(
They are the Evo Sporting alloys.

Next thing i did was get rid of the horrible yellow tint from the lights-

Team HEKO Wind Deflectors-

Then when i needed my brake pads changing i opted for the upgraded Greenstuff pads with the EBC front grooved discs-

I ran the car like this for a few months then i had a fantastic oppurtunity to buy these lovely RAYS alloys replicas and considering i was going to get the Evo alloys sprayed black, i spent the money on buying some already black alloys instead! :)

Then i ordered some orange rim tape along with my spigot rings, gave them a bit of a clean up and this is how they are right now-

These are going to go on when i finally pull my finger out and fit my Eibach Sportline springs-

Oh and also these came in the post today

Im sure most people know but they're Forge underbody braces.

So yeah, thats how the car stands atm- should be fitting my springs and the new alloys within the next week or 2 then ill have the car looking almost exactly how i want minus a Cupra Splitter & Black front headlights and also need to get round and vinyl my front bumper at some point!

All comments welcome,

- Enos :)

Yeah it does look like that! But no it's not snapped off, just the funny angle of the picture.
And your right, the HIDs do scatter quite badly and don't give as long range as a set of good bulbs.. But they do work alright, might go back to bulbs soon I'm not sure! Haha

UPDATE.

Ive decided to get a stud conversion kit, due to the wheel bolts being soo hard to get to on my alloys.
Obviously with the studs, you need nuts. And i opted for r40 extended neo-chrome wheel nuts.

Fitted them and also ran the alloys like this without orange tape for a week or two like this-

Also decided to vinyl upto the spoiler

And this is how they look with the tape back on, looks much better imo-

I'll take some pics of the car on a whole soon when i get the chance.

Still gotta get black front lights and cupra/linea splitter and also linea diffuser, they'll come all in good time! hah

Cheeeaarrss

Looks great!! Was the stud conversion easy enough to do? Agree with you about the wheels they do look better with the orange tape.

Yeah its easssyyy.
The bolts you need are M12x1.5
So type in 'M12x1.5 conversion' in eBay and you'll see the bolts. Normal ones are 40mm long but I got 50mm cos I wanna put some spacers on the alloys at some point on the rear.

what size spacers you going for?

love the car by the way, my only gripe would be that the rim tape makes your alloys look smaller.

been asked above and not sure if you replied, but whats the difference like in the new springs and forge braces? as i had coilies on my old ford focus and they were mint, but can springs alone make the same difference?

ah ha, it is you, now then

Car looked really good when i saw you fella, you should get along to one of our YorkshireITALIA meets sometime and show it off ;)

Haha, now then!
Yeah I might do, she's starting to come along now and to the point I'm happy with her :)

When's the next meet? And whereabouts are they? Our area or more like Leeds etc?

10 maybe 15mm on the rear probably and maybe 5/10's on the front.
Then I wanna get some Corsa D camber bolts to play about a little with the front wheel camber..

And yeh looking at those pictures they do look like that but tbh I think it looks worse because the wheel with no tape has just had tyre blacker stuff on it..

I bought the springs and the braces at the same time and the car came back feeling great. Only problem was if you really chucked it about the back end feels a little loose if that makes sense?
So I then got all the bushes on the car replaced to PowerFlex bushes and wow, it just transforms the car. Barely any body roll, and it barely understeers.. Just grips and turns in sharp and crisp. Best things I've bought for the car, PowerFlex full bush kit. Well recommended!!

its not about whether the end result will be any good.. its that it will just be a grande abarth at the end of it except to an insurance company its modified and would probably be more expensive to insure than a stock grande abarth.. You could modify an abarth so its even faster and it end up costing the same at the end of it.

I'm not discouraging it having a engine transplant at all, just not that one. Do something completely out there if your gonna do it is my opinion.. for exampe, for less than that abarth engine you could have this
