500 Miklysas Fiat 500 Cup!.

Introduction

Hi! I'm new to this forum and to Fiat :) I bought this 500 Cup when I was on vacation. I was up late one night on the internet and found this for sale in Oslo, Norway so I drove down and sold my BMW and bought this. The car is a 2008 model which had only run approx 14000 miles when I bought it two weeks ago! It's a 1.4 sport 100hp with sportmode, fully automatic aircon (haven't seen that on many 500's) and, of course, it's the all-so-rare Cup model! :D
I will upload more detailed pictures later, as these are taken using my phone.. Needed something to send my friends for bragging rights, right? :D

I'm having a hard time finding words to describe how it is to drive. It's very firm since it's lowered and has wider rims and tires than the standard model. But when I press the sport-button and give the car full throttle through a twisty road, that's when I know what a fantastic car it is! It hugs down to the asphalt, clipping the apexes without any problems, giving an insane rush, thus putting a smile from ear to ear on my face :) All the time people come up to me and ask about the car and if they can take a picture of it. "Go ahead" I usually say. I've never smiled so much when I'm driving to and from work..

As I said I will upload better pictures later on, both of the interior and exterior. But that's not going to happen before I give the car a proper round of Autoglym HD-Wax ;) Please let me know what you think :)

.. The older you get the less mods on a car you suite you, unless buying expensive sports car.

Love the backdrops.

Amen to that.
I'm just 22, turning 23 in October so I've got lots of time on my hands :)
My first car was a Honda Prelude and my second was an MB190 which I lowered as hell and my third car was a 06 BMW 318 which I also lowered so I'm familliar with the pains of getting in and out of such cars :p

I didn't mean getting out of cars as such. What I was saying was and older person driving your car will not look cool stepping out of it, only because the car looks very sporty and its expected the person driving such a car will be well off in their mid 20s, oh they must have an 8 pack stomach (by default).

22 yrs, well done mate... at your age I had a 100cc Honda and got stopped by the police who said is your bike big enough to carry 2 people  I mean WTF !! why could they not arrest me for wearing a MeatLoaf Jacket and E=MC2 on side of the seat ??

You can do what you like to your car and still look cool  but it must will stop when you hit 30, keep posting.

Damn that made me laugh :D I know I don't have many years left before I have to buy a "smarter" car.. But that's years away now :)

These are custom MS Design wheels :) Usually you'd need spacers to go with the rims on a widebody car, but on these rims, the spacers are a part of the rim. So if I hit a curb or wreck these rims I'm screwed. Gonna wax the car tomorrow (saturday) so expect interior pics and more! :)

OZ superturismo. I have a set on my Marea. Should you need another wheel but not want to pay the stupid price the original supplier would want. :)

Let me give you a price comparison to show you how expensive Norway is:
A 2011 BMW M3 Coupe starts at 54,690£ in the UK.
The same car in Norway starts at 1.530.800 NOK which by todays currency comes to 173.582£.. So yeah I'm not going to tell you :p

Not too sure if this saw this link for an old thread that was revived but I didn't realise that the Cup was supercharged and it was priced at £11,000 :). Do you have any pictures of the engine bay ?

EDIT: just realised there's different versions of the Cup - the one below is the 'SC' in Nouva terms.:)
I got the impression that for a Supercharger to work it needed a bulge on the bonnet for it to fit but there's none showing on their site.

I like it except for the rear spoiler and wheels. The car doesn't go fast enough to justify a spoiler like that and the wheels look too big.

How fast should a car go to justify a spoiler like that?

I think this a great bit of kit and shows what can be done to a 500. The chap is only 22 and is proud of it, it's more than transport, it's an icon. If he wanted something that pleases the forum then he would have got a standard TA or a 1.2 (y)

I think he can pull off the spoiler because hes not driving it in the UK , however if i saw that coming down my road the first thing in my mind wouldnt be ew look at that spoiler , it would be how can such a young guy aford to insure that beast! :)

He-he :) I've owned an 06 BMW 3-series and that cost me approx. 2300£ to insure. But as I've stated earlier; things are a bit more expensive her.. Damn kids driving around crashing their cars..

To me a car is a lot more than a mode of transport; it's a way of showing others who you are. If you drive a Toyota Avensis you're probably a sensible guy with a wife and kids. I, on the other hand, am not. I'm not a boy-racer. I don't like that "style". My first car might have been a little over the top, but for those who saw my MB 190 and my BMW, I went for a more subtle but "expensive" look. This car is more of a toy. And what a toy it is! :D

I'm not sure as to how long I'll keep it. I know it's a really rare car and it will be even more rare as time passes by. Cars runs in my blood and I know some of you share that passion with me. My girlfriend would rather have me "healed" soon but I'm not sure if that's going to happen. Unless a kid pops up (or out) :p

The general opinion on the forum is that the red paint appears to suffer the most from stone chips. One of our members, pearce_jj has recently had his bonnet resprayed because of this problem and hopefully the new paint will be more durable than the OEM finish.

I finally got around to install a subwoofer in the car and the sound is amazing! Nobody can come to me and say that the interscope can play as well as an aftermarket one. Didn't cost much either. Went for a JBL 12-inch subwoofer and a JBL amplifier. Didn't change the headunit so we "stole" sound from the rear speakers and I must say it worked really well. As for the power to the amp it was a much more trickier job. Took a loooooong time to find a hole in the engine bay to pull the wire through. Neither of the two "available" holes in the firewall was usable so I found a hole in the fender but we did a really good job and the wire is as invisible as it goes except from the part around the battery.

I can upload pics of the luggage compartment with the woofer if anybody cares.. Now I'm just wondering what I'm going to do next week as I have a week of vacation and I was scheduling this to be done then. But as usual I'm too impatient to wait for things.. :D Now I got to get around to get the tail lights tinted! :)
