Somewhere in my head...
Today I've traded in my Black 1.2 Active, for a White 1.4 Dynamic. Having had the Active as my first car for the past couple of years, I fancied something with a bit more poke to it, and with air-con - especially as I'm not keen on having been roasted alive the past few summers...

So, I found a 58 plate, 5dr Dynamic. 12600 miles. All standard at the moment, but I already have a 'to-do' list... :)

So firstly there's some bits off my old Active that will be transferred onto this one:

  • Window wind-deflectors
  • Beesting aerial
  • Dynamic Alloys (didn't come with the Dynamic strangely, but I bought some already that went on the Active)
  • Kenwood Stereo
  • Tinted rear lights (standard punto lights, but darker... basically lol)
  • Tinted side repeater covers.
  • Silver indicator bulbs in the headlight assembly.

And then the plans for when I get some spare pennies saved up/some spare time to take things apart...:

  • Tinted rear doors/rear windscreen (thinking dark-smoke)
  • Powdercoated alloys (Satin Black is looking the favourite)
  • Lowered
  • New speakers/amp/sub (looking to be a Xmas pressie from the OH :D) - DONE!!
  • Re-cover the fabric in the door cards - quite fancy white (faux) leather...
  • Colour-code the scuttle panel (??) - the black plastic bit the windscreen washer jets come out of.
  • Possibly colour-code the wing-mirror arms.
  • Possibly colour-code some of the inside button surrounds/console surround etc. - DONE!!

Am sure I'll add to the list at some point. Will post pics up as and when stuff changes.

Finally got all my small bits from the other GP fitted. Just need to re-tint my rear lights, and they'll be getting swapped over at some stage.

So, tinted indicator covers are on...

Wind deflectors are on...

Silver indicator bulbs are in...

and Stereo is fitted and working...

Oh and of course some FF stickers :)

Not looking too bad so far :)

Thanks :)

Sporting wheels would be good, especially if I can find some at a decent price. Would look at having the silver face of them re-done in white I think though. Money is quite tight tbh, and as we're still trying to redecorate the house, anything that is going to cost triple figures is going to have to wait for the time being. Will certainly be added to the wish-list though (y)

On a side note, I've got my tinted rear lights all fitted on now. Looking nice - especially after a good clean this morning. Just have to get some more pix at some point.

And I've found another inexpensive mod to do... Though I'm not telling what it is until it's been done - may be some mixed response lol.

Looked good when i saw the car the other day (y) coming together nicely. really like the plates

Thanks :) Apparently the 'Sh4dow' bit at the bottom may not be entirely legal, but it's kinda small and not so noticable unless you're next to them, so should be ok.

Would really like to get the white leather door cards done as a next step. Getting the leather (well, faux leather) is easy, it's just dismantling the door and fitting it that's going to be, errm... interesting... :D

dismantling them is relatively easy, undo the few bolts and pull... :D

in my opinion they arent, as i said to Frazer the other day, they have the Reg, Manufacturer and Post Code on them, they have all the required info...

if the company you got them from havent declared them as "Show Only Plates" then its not your fault (y)

Aye that was my thinking as well, the sellers themselves are adamant that all of their plates are road legal or they wouldn't be allowed to make them.

As an additional to this thread, I've been pricing up some new I.C.E. for someone's Xmas pressie ;)

Thanks for the link Andy, I'll be having a proper gander in there when I change the speakers for the new ones. Speaking of which, all new ICE is ordered and should be arriving soon, I'll not post specs as it's still a surprise at this stage. Ordered early in case there was anything faulty I could make sure everything worked come Xmas and it's time to get it all installed :slayer:

My HU is the only thing he's not replacing - I only bought that at the start of the year lol. Frustrating though - it all arrived yesterday in two humongous boxes, and I'm not allowerd to look at anything :(

On the plus side, I'm looking forwards to Xmas... :D
