Cinquecento My 96 Cinq SX - 'Ciara'

Introduction

Alright all... Got a 0.9 Cinq SX a few weeks ago, thought I'd join incase I ever needs parts or advice, or if there's anything going on in the local area that I wouldn't have known about otherwise.
So far I've put Seicento sporting alloys on her and painted them matt black, painted the bumper and door strips red and put a bit of smartie wrap here and there.
It needs to have a few little dings pulled out ideally have the boot resprayed after a bad job by the previous owner after it was debadged. I intend to get a Cinq or Seic sporting/abarth spoiler and possibly drop her 40-60mm...
Bit confused with this whole lowering business, folks talk of it reducing the life of the shocks if lowering springs are fitted, but the underneath is solid and the car has only done 26,000 miles so they can't have been subject to a great deal of abuse and should be alright for a bit, surely? I'd usually make sure it was a proper job but with being a student, funds aren't that great!
Need to sort the tyres out too, got skinny high profile standard tyres on the back, then sporting ones on the front!
Only got one decent photo, I'll add more once I've cleaned it, and there's one of how it was when I got it

PS sorry for the essay! Cheers, Danny :D
Welcome to the forum mate (y)
nice little car you have there. you can go 40mm drop on standard shocks ok, a few people have gone 60mm but its not reccomended as it knackers your shocks alot quicker, if you wanna go 60mm you will need a shocks and springs kit really. out of curiousity why did you take off the 3 spoke wheels?

Thanks a lot, I guess I'll stick with the idea of 40mm then just in case...
I took off the 3 spokes because firstly they were kerbed to f**k, and secondly, I thought they looked awful! In my mind, 3 spoke wheels are for Jap cars :p I'm also one for keeping things pretty standard to an extent, and I'd rather have Fiat issue wheels rather than whatever make they are... :)

I reckon they would look pretty mean in black and I did buy the paint to do them, but then the Seicento ones came up cheap & locally so I went for them and sprayed them instead :) steelies only really seem to work on dubs, the ones on Cinq's are scarily skinny too!

looks good. i have doubts of a deicento spoiler fitting though. totally agree with 3 spoke alloys only nice 3 spokes ive ever seen on a euro car is the mk3 fiesta RS

yh, they like elastic bands stretched around a grinding disk lol if you need any bits and bos for yours let me know fella as im breaking 1 up for parts. where exactly are you? and what would you want for the 3 spokes?
Yeah exactly, hardly fill you with confidence! Oh right, I think I'm alright for parts at the minute, my front seats are knackered though! But I'll give you a shout if anything pops up, and I'm from East Northamptonshire sadly! I have no idea tbh, I'd be open to offers I guess...
