Re: my new bravoooo

I found my 1.4 really nippy from standing and upto 65mph, It definatly wasnt slow maybe yours needs a good service? I seriously doubt the 1.6 head will fit on the 1.4 block, The first point I can see from looking at headgasket photos, the oil feeds are in different places.

Fitting the entire Mk1 1.6 engine into a Mk1 1.4 shell has been done by shaunco, he also had to change some petrol tank related parts and the gear leaver.

There are so many high spec 1.6's going around for less than £1000, simply buying one seems the most logical thing todo. You can get ones with extras like fog lights, electric and colour coded mirrors, heated seats, spoiler, aircon, in the trofeo leather steering wheel, passenger and side airbags 1.4 doesnt normaly have ABS either.

Re: my new bravoooo

buy Mine if you want a 1.6 ;) haha, best thing to do..give it a nice service and should run smooth then :) they did stop the 1.4's in 98, and then fiat bought the 1.2 to replace it, if you want economy and abit of nippyness, id say the 1.2 :), but if your thinking of somehow doing an engine conversion, your best bet is to just buy another bravo...they go for pennies(not literatly) :p

Re: my new bravoooo

Thinking of getting a 1.6 Bravo after my insurance ends :), The 1.4 is quite good, Kept up with my mums merc the other day, Theres so much i want to do to my car, If anyones selling anything, let me know, m20b25, Still got those CC'd mirrors? And has anyone got a Bodykit? or wheels haha, i can go on and on.

I think i might avoid a replacement engine, Mines doing well, plus its only on 58k so im onto a winner.

But alloys are still my priority at the moment :(

Re: my new bravoooo

Hi there. Have Bravo 1.4 12v too, but my bumpers are not painted :D Wanted to ask, what air filter you have? did it help (sound/power)?

Re: my new bravoooo

You must have the Bravo S ;) Its Just a £27 filter from halfords. Its not too bad, sounds better, An exhaust will make it sound so much better though, and i have felt a slight increase in power :D

Re: my new bravoooo

Yea, i have S :) Bought it totally wrecked, so fixed all engine, stearing things.. Payed almost the car's price for repairing :D After 4 weeks will look for alloys, driver seat, need to polish it.. I have black, so black bumpers are not so bad i think. But the worst problem that i can't fix dents that all around my car from trees and other stuff..

Re: my new bravoooo

And about air filter again. Have problem whit it, dont know which one to take. Cause for this engine K&N filters go only sguare (for original box). So the guestion is, maybe you know diameter of the pipe's end? And i see that you have 2 pipes, 1 original and another one was whit air filter? Sorry for my English, i am not from England :p

Re: my new bravoooo

Lets see this Bravo :D, I had to go scrapyard to get another pipe, mines off a TD100 i think. i took out the air box, and connected the TD pipe onto the current one and the air filter fitted perfectly :)

Re: my new bravoooo

Haha :D Got it :))) Anyway, before i change filter, i will look what diameter i need :)) Thanks for all mate :) :slayer:

Re: my new bravoooo

God damn, have a good offer - 2 black skirts for wey low price.. But they are black, like my car. Only like i told, i have not painted bumpers.. So i wonder how it will look, if i buy them. :bang:
